Whatever. She was never a member of the team back when I was reading the comics. There was Professor X, Cyclops, Angel, Ice Man, and the Beast. Jean Grey joined the team within the first couple of issues, and was called Marvel Girl back then. One of the things that was sort of a turn off for me about the movies was how many "original" characters there were. Wolverine, Rogue, Mystique, and just about everyone else, except Magneto, came much later in the series.
That's how the Avengers and JLA are gonna be, too, before too much longer, if they keep it up. I prefer small teams fighting against heavy odds to one army vs the other. They just seem more...heroic...that way.
