Sarah won people's choice and she thanked the cast and crew of Buffy TVS, also us fans!

I thought that was amazing, ten years after the show has finished and she still thought to thank everyone. I couldn't love her more.

Makes me proud to be a fan, this is so sweet of her.
And this award is long overdue.

One hell of a woman...

I won't lie, I got overly emotional when she did this, she's amazing, I'm almost in tears (I know it's stupid, but hey). I felt just like when she got that "Class Protector" award as Buffy.

That was incredibly classy, like really cool.

It's awesome she seems to be embracing BtVS publicly more now, between this and since she's joined Twitter I think she's dispelled a lot of what comes across as bitchness or coldness.

She also deserved the award, I like her much more in TCOs then the other nominees, some of whom are brilliant.

So happy that she thought of thanking evryone for Buffy. I almost squealed when I heard it last night 😀

When exactly was she acting bitchy? Those are all just rumors (that she was a bitch to work with, that she was difficult on set).... Really, I hear nothing but praise for her from her colleagues and nothing but praise from her for BTVS. I understand that she wanted to rest a bit from it, I mean she was working REALLY hard on it for 7 years, so I understand her.

I didn't say she was bitchy, I said she can come across as bitchy, and I dont even mean her I mean the public perception.

There are numerous quotes from her co-stars that imply coldness/distance/bitchiness.

Lots of her co-stars also describe her in the same way "such a professional, always knows her lines" - when you have the same line repeated over and over by multiple people, it also adds to the aura of bitchiness, it began to come across as not actually having something nice to say, passed a prepared statement.

She also basically had a stock answer for talking about Buffy, up till recently she's always described the show in the same way, there's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to get some distance between BtVS and the rest of her career, but it did lead to a aura that she was cold/bitchy.

Recently that has changed, I think since she's started promoting The Crazy Ones she's decided to be more open/personable, look at press stuff for Ringer and TCO and she is completely different, and is very different when talking about BtVS.

Around the same time Alyson gave an interview that didn't come across so well for Sarah and she joined twitter, and since then she's been very embracing of BtVS and talking about BtVS and interacting with her fans about BtVS.

Personally I think Ringer was a wake up call that fans aren't gonna follow you everywhere if you do crap shows, so she's trying to get fans on board with TCO, which is great cuz the show is all right and she's become a lot more likeable in public perception.

Omg! She's really tiny 🙂 (my first thought)
Secondly - she looks awesome and so classy
Thirdly - way to go getting a people's choice
Fourthly - yay Buffy

🙂

I know what you meant and honestly I just think the people are overthinking her co-workers' words, they don't have to mean "prepared lines" they can mean she was actually very proffesional and I also heard others describe her not only using that line, I especially feel Michelle admires her a lot (kinda like Dawn admired Buffy, she's her idol)... it's just people trying to give her the bad rep...

I agree, and I also think it is important to remember that we can only speculate based on details like this. The stated opinions of her co-workers really only serve as a small window into an experience.

Either way, I thought it was very sweet of her to give a huge shout out to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It makes me proud to be a fan of hers!

OMG! This actually made me a bit emotional. I mean, Buffy was never my favorite character and I have never really been a huge SMG fan, but she was Buffy, man. And that was so sweet of her! After all these years she thought of us. I've gotta say this really made me love her. <3 Way to go, SMG!

This actually gives me chills. Over dramatic, I know. But I really do love this girl, everything she's done for this community of people is outstanding. Best actress ever.

Firstly, I'm happy that she won, she really deserves it.

Secondly, wow, I was not expecting this! It's amazing that she thought of thanking everyone involved in BtVS, especially considering how long it's been since the show aired and also considering that Buffy didn't have anything to do with the award. It's really cool of her to have said that, might be silly but I really appreciate it as a fan.

Personally I think it feels quite random, and a bit awkward actually, to bring up Buffy while winning an award for her work on another show.

But good for her. I'm glad that she won.
(Not that I've seen other nominees, except Ming-Na Wen, but still...)
