On a British morning T.V show today called GMTV- the presenters told the British viewers than SMG wasn't signed up for another season after season 7. Wheather this is true or not is still a complete mystery. As we all know Sarah Michelle Gellar hasn't said anything on the subject and many fans still don't know what's going on.

Her contract expires after season 7 and she has yet to decide if she will sign on for season 8. That's the deal. 😉

That's what I heard also. I also read somewhere that SMG said that normally at the end of the season is when she decides if she is going to sign on for another season. I really hope she does sign up. But if she doesn't, then the show was good while it lasted.

I wouldn't count on her coming back for a full season, as of now I think the best we're going to get is some possible guest spots.

sniff sniff. when i first heard about this i was heartbroken! but now i think it's better if the show finishes while it's at it's best so it will be remembered till the end of time!

Buffy will live in my heart 4eva!!!

Yea but apparently she doesnt want to do another one ::crying::

Well I read on a site where there was an article that SMG's really leaving. Here's the link:

I don't really know what to think about it. As much as I hate to say it they should just end it at season 7 if SMG 'does' decide to leave. She's just leaving Buffy to further her movie career. I love SMG, but honestly I think she's making a big mistake. To me I think that she's trying to get away from Buffy. I've noticed that in all the talk shows she appeared on to promote Scooby Doo, the hosts still ask her about Buffy. I think that she's kinda getting sick of that. She probably wants to be just asked about the movie and not about Buffy. My point is that no matter what she does, she'll always be known as ' Buffy.' She'll never be able to escape from it. I just hope that she remembers who got her where she is today. She wouldn't be doing movies if it wasn't for Joss and everyone else involved with the show. I just hope that she doesn't regret it later on. 🙁

I read SOMEWHERE (who knows where now...) that there was no possibility of another "Buffy" movie because that wasnt what they were about and they didnt want it to look like they were trying to relive the one that bombed (which I thought was an awesome movie...but ok...).

If SMG leaves after the seventh season then they BTVS crew might want Dawn to become the new slayer if they want to do another season. I don't think that would be a very good idea. SMG is Buffy the Vampire Slayer and no one else can do it as well as her. I'd stop watching if they did that. Who aggrees?

If SMG leaves then that should be the end of Buffy. I think Sarah just wants to leave while the show is still so successful, rather than staying with a sinking ship (not that it is sinking at all).

The show can't go on forever as it was a teen show & now the character is getting older. It is understandable that SMG would like to move on & do different things after 7 years🙂

I don't like the idea of the show with Dawn taking over, perhaps a spin off show would be good. But what are the chances of 2 Buffy spin-offs being successful? Faith is also someone Joss is considering if Sarah leaves...

Though it'll be weird they shoul'dn't stop! NEVER say such bad things again! With Joss' creativity and genius mind, I'm sure he'll think of someway to make the series continue even without SMG!

We ain't moaning if Sarah leaves cause the show is that unique that if Joss continues the show then it will still be grate. All SMG fans will back her 110% and I suppose it's a question of wheather your a fan of the show or of Sarah Michelle Gellar.

But you have to figure that most of the people that watch BTVS watch it because of ... well Sarah Michelle Gellar... I don't think the show could take the ratings hit...
