SMG returns to tv????

Hmm, that's what made me think of Nancy. I don't want her in a take-charge role. I want to see her as a submissive, downtrodden character who is still complex and interesting and still has a mind of her own. I've seen SMG do the authority thing. I want to see her do something different. I never saw her on soaps (I never watched that one), so I've only seen her play a cartoony and daft crime fighter, (in Scooby Doo) a superhero evildoer fighter, and the dominant and manipulative Marquise de Merteuil (or whatever the American teeny bopper name for her was). It doesn't have to be Nancy, but I want to see her play something that puts her on the other side of the good/evil thing as well as on the other side of the power dynamic.

Something set in the 40s would be good. I'm having a hard time coming up with anything, though. You're right about the Pearl Harbor effect, Keanoite.

I agree we know she can do the strong female roles I want to see her do something completely different and not in the horror genre either, the genre is dead and she is doing herself no favours by wallowing in it.

She doesn't always play the strong one in her movies. I think if she is going to be a lead in a show that is going ot make it, then people will want to see her lead.
When I watched Alias, I was blown away. I loved how Jennifer Garner was strong. Could take beatings and dish em out too. I tried to watch Bionic Woman. It just doesn't float my boat. I have tried. I saw like 5 episodes and wanted to sleep thru all of them. Her character to me is too weak. I just think a strong lead would be best. It's just my opinion. Plenty of people here who hated Alias and love Bionic I am sure.

I too would like to see her in a commanding role. I will always have the image of Buffy in my head. So, when I see Sarah I see Buffy.

I hope she doesn't do a sit-com or anything remotely soap opera. After all, she's done that already when she was a teen. She's obviously one of the most gifted actresses EVER, honestly, she can do anything. I wish her luck and I just hope she finds a new agent who keeps giving her these horrible movie scripts.

Edit:

I hope she doesn't do a sit-com or anything remotely soap opera. After all, she's done that already when she was a teen. I wish her luck and I just hope she finds a new agent who keeps giving her these horrible movie scripts.

Ergh... TV. Well, thanks to the internet I've been watching a fair share. But it's all so disappointing. She's likely going to end up doing some god awful sitcom a la 'How I Met Your Mother' (no offense). I'd like to see her on something like Desperate Housewives. While I don't watch the show frequently I think it's safe to assume Sarah could handle a character with the personality of Kathryn; and it certainly would be a change from Buffy.

I honestly don't think that the comics doing well would provide anything but motivation to do a film. If 'Sex and The City' does well I honestly wouldn't be all that surprised if the Buffy film thing was reconsidered. The 'Buffyverse' is such a niche market that profits would likely be very high; and even the weary fans would go just to support the series. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I kinda hope she'll do something horror/supernatural-related, but it doesn't have to be action-oriented. (Action in horror ALWAYS results in non-scariness anyway.) Or I wouldn't mind her in Desperate Housewives or a show like it, as jeansebergmustdie said.

I'm not a huge fan of sitcoms and I don't think she's a SITCOM kind of person, if she does one I'd rather it be single camera (a la The Office/30 Rock/Earl). I'd definitely prefer her in a speculative fiction type of series though.

I ccan't think of any show on at the moment that would seem to fit her, except maybe Lost or Heroes. Heroes would be perfect, it would give her old fans a taste of Buffy, and yet allow her to remake herself by taking on a whole new role.

Either Grey's Anatomy or Ugly Betty. More Ugly Betty, she could be a serious love interest for Daniel, maybe. Or, My Name is Earl. All shows that I was watching. You know, before the whole writers strike.

What about Tess of the D'Urbervilles? That's one of my favorite books. Still with the British, though. Darn it. Why don't I read any American books?

If somebody gave me the keys to castle and said I could write a TV series starring SMG, I'd go one of two ways:

1. I'd pull on my own experience and on SMG's portrayal of Buffy when she worked at Doublemeat Palace. The show would be about a convenience store or fast food worker in a crappy little town in Ohio (where I grew up). It would take place during that really nasty gang war/child rape incident they had a few years back and it would be about how the town is kind of rebuilding itself. For her character, I'd go for a Christina Ricci in Black Snake Moan sort of person, minus the weird nympohmania. It'd be like My-So-Called-Life for the working class 20-something.

2. I'm a huge fan of the movie Witchfinder General. I'd do a series based on that premise: a young woman caught between the old ways and the new and struggling to stay on the non-witch side of the fence while the world slowly goes to rot around her. She wouldn't be a hero. She'd just be a woman trying to protect herself and her child(ren). In fact, I'd probably make her a servant or a charwoman or some other low-class profession. And if she can't do an accent, no problem. I'd set it in Salem.

I would love to see her back on TV, No Offence intended but my opinion is that her films are pretty bad

They could do a remake of "I Dream of Jeanie" She would look great in those harem pants, and She wouldn't have to do anything real strenuous except climb in and out of that bottle.

SMG would only be a couple of years younger than Eva Longoria...so,go figure.
(For the record,no-I don't watch DH.)

But Eva is the exception, all the other actresses have been over 40 (well a massive percentage of them). I enjoy DH but SMG would not really slide into that show without some great writing. Plus that show has a habit of not giving there supporting cast a whole lot of great martial/ things to do. I would love to see her on Supernatural for a week or two as a vampire or something evil 😀 They have had so many buffy/angel guest spots already it would be great to see her on it.
