What are your thoughts on SMG's portrayal as The First Evil in season 7? Was it convincing?

I thought it was convincing because the point of the First is that it doesn't only take the form of any dead person, it sort of becomes that person, understand the personality and who they used to be, as explained by the First/Mayor in "Touched". I think Sarah put just enough of Buffy and enough of the First to make it interesting.

At the time I kinda liked SMG in that role than as Buffy to be honest- at least until 'End Of Days/Chosen.' 🙁

I think SMG had a better idea of how to play the First than Buffy at this point. All she had to do was act 'evil' and occassionally get those dreamy 'bedroom' eyes when she's talking. And voila' EVIL. 🙂

I really enjoyed it and to me it seemed like she did as well. I thought it was fun to see her as The First even though I felt like it was a bit cheap/lazy of them to have The First being Buffy so often (it could be any dead character... wasted possibilities).

I think they could have made some of the puns work better. The 'get out of my face' line, sorta fell flat.

I think it was because she was so tired of playing Buffy.. the chance to play someone else HAD to be a dream.
