Out of all the senses, my favorite is the sense of scent. I luv dirty and gross smells and sweet and lovely smells!

I just luv to use my sniffer! I also have a few smells that I'm rather obsessive about! There are a couple that I should not post on as they are not BB appropriate! One that I can talk about is Scotch tape. I luv to tear pieces off and just set it under my nose and sniff and sniff-it smells so good to me! It cannot be any old tape, it has to be regular Scotch tape (not the packing kind). My girlfriend luves they way plastic smells, the kind that plastic purses/plastic beach bags are made of.

Does anybody else have these issues? 🙂
 
Freshly-washed and powdered baby is a good smell...

...and the obvious food smells (curry, garlic and onions frying, bread baking, my spag bol cooking - I could go on...)

Scotch tape Chas? Is that Sellotape to us Brits? Has it got a smell? I'll try some at work tomorrow.
 
hmm i hate the smell of band-aids its odd and i love windex and the smell of lemom pledge
 
I have a little pillow thing that i brought when i was about twelve it was heart shaped and blue...now it is stuffed with cotton wool and a funny blob shape and a horrible grey colour but i cant get to sleep at night without holding it under my nose it just smells so comforting...
I love the smell of fresh sawdust to.. 😀
 
Ooh, sawdust - good one Akasha. Freshly mown grass was good in my pre- hay fever days...
 
Scotch tape DOES smell great Chas! 😛

I love the smell of rain too Akasha...it's very calming to me...

My most recent favorite smell is warm vanilla sugar but I also love the smell of a tire store, brand new shoes, I love to nuzzle and smell necks when I hug people...well...sometimes I can't nuzzle...lol...I hate the smell of hospitals and I love the smell of tennis balls and basketballs and The smell of a match that has just blown out...I'll stop now...I like lots of smells! 😛

the smell of gasoline, i dont know why but I have always liked it.

after reading this thread I may never be able to look at scotch tape quite the same way.
 
i agree about the gasoline thing i love that smell and color me weird but i kinda liek the smell of a skunk

Chas, it's good to see that you have moved from glue, to the adhesive on TAPE!!!!!! do you find that you are a bit hungry, perhaps have the munchy's after you get done packing a box, or perhaps taping something to the wall? I swear all of us are a bunch of stoners, for things other than traditional narcotics. I too, enjoy the smell of gasoline, I love the smell of cigarette smoke, outdoors. And I love colonge or perfume, as long as it's not overdone, or cheapie imitation stuff, or "old lady perfume" like the stuff my grandma wears.
 
oh Evil Jesus, im with ya hun! Money smells so good! I sneak into my sisters room and get her money out when ses not home cause she never banks it,
I also love paint and new books and leather! 🙂
Also the normal food, ecpessially Chiken and suger.
But I hate gasoline, and I cant really sniff much chemicals or anthing cause I start choking on the air 🙁
 
Can I opt on not really giving a rat's ass about my sniffer? I mean I use it to locate fire or anything else dangerous, like trying to guess what type of person girls/women are by the scent of there perfume!

Mr. Pointy: freshly cut grass is the best, reminds me of summer and luv. Scotch tape...I don't know what the equivalant would be for you...test a few out, you might like it! 🙂

EJ: I luv the smell of sweaty money in a man's leather wallet...hmmm...such good manliness!

blake: LOL! We are so silly and great! That's why I luv it here so! I'm not a smoker but I do luv the way a man smells with a little beer on his breath, fresh cigarette and some really yummy cologne...then I'm all about the neck nuzzlin'! (Hiya Rayne)
 
I love the smell of freshly washed crisp bedsheets and rain, love the smell of rain after a massive heavy downpour.
 
People seem to be avoiding the smells-they-hate side of the question, so let me jump in.

Smells I hate

1. All the obvious ones of course -- anything rotting, a polluted bathroom, sewage, bad breathe, BO.

2. Curry cooking, or the curry smell that sticks to peoples clothing.

3. A bar, or a party house the morning after.

4. That tobacco smell that sticks to peoples hands and clothing, or a smoker's car, or a dirty ashtray.

5. That marijuana smell that sticks to people's hands and clothing.

6. You ever stand behind someone in a line who's been eating a lot of garlic, and that second-hand garlic smell oozes through their pores.

7. Propane or sulphur in general.

8. Smelly feet

9. Male cologne.

10. Scotch, or tequilla

A few smells I like that haven't been mentioned yet-- Springtime, the ocean, old books, gasoline, puppy breath.

Did you ever notice people seem to like the smell of their own farts, but they hate the smell of anyone elses'. That's odd don't you think?

LMFAO! So true, huh!? lol.... everybody always thinks that their own sh*t smells like roses but "roses smell like poopoo"...

I luv the way old books smell too! Good call...
 
oh hate, i have a long list!

Obviously seeing as im asthmatic I cant handle any strong smells, or else i start choking, but here are most:

carosine
varnish
onions
computers (which is so strange seeing as im on at least 6 hours a day!)
bathrooms (the not clean ones)
off stuff
 
The only obsession I have with gross and dirty smells is that I have to smell them. If somebody tells me something stinks, I have (at least 90% of the time) to sniff for myself. And then I usually have to take a second whiff just to make sure...

I luv the way my kitties paws smell. I pick up their paws and bury my nose in the pads on the bottom, I think they smell like salty tortilla chips!
