Yay! Snow!
So happy.. I'm like a little child.. most of the schools have been closed.. and i aint going to college.. I'm going sledgin!.. Wahooo..
anyone else been attacked by the snow?

Uhhh, Dani, give me your address, and I'll send you a couple of tons...like Amber said, Canada is the birthplace of snow, and I'm getting just a little tired of it now, thanks...

Damn you, KD - you've been practising that winter/hockey mojo thing again, haven't you?🙂 Did I mention I hate cold, snowy weather...

We forget in the UK that our weather is relatively mild compared to the major Continental areas. So the slightest sniff of snow is enough to shut down the country. What would be a normal work or school day in Sweden or Canada becomes a national emergency here...what a bunch of wimps, eh?

BTW KD, having mentioned ice hockey fleetingly - did I read somewhere that this year's season has been cancelled because of a player's strike, or is that just the US?

No, you read right, the "lockout" of the players by the owners has cancelled the NHL season...no one will play for the Stanley Cup this year...and my beloved Flames will not play at all...at least we have the under 21 semi-pro league still playing for the Memorial Cup...and my hometown team, the Knights, are the major contenders...plus I play, so I'm not missing the pros that much.

Snow...we had about 8 inches a couple of nights ago, and no one even blinked...that being said, we have the equipment ot remove it from the roads in bulk, and we do it all the time. I drove in at 1030pm in a white out, but, it's like "ho hum, just another typical Canadian snowstorm..." We get so much we forget how dangerous it is and hard to deal with when you're not used to it...

No one is ever glad with what they have.... in my opinion you're just sooo lucky to have snow !!! I want snow ! I love snow ! I crave for snow!!!
Alright, maybe not that much...
Reason why snow is cool =
- you can make a snow-vampire
- you can have snow-fight
- it's a good excuse not to go to school :winking03
- it gives such a lovely look to the landscape
- you can have fun watching people falling because it slips (less fun when you're concerned though :cussing2: )
- you can make an igloo
- it's just lovely in itself when it's falling

See all the great reasons to love snow! :infatuati

Come one woman, your Scottish! My only regret is that we don't have enough. When I was at school and it got cancelled that was fine as it was easily done but now that I have to work, although I don't want to go in I have to because the roads are clear. Still I didn't go to college this morning though as it wasn't looking clear.

*Shivers with fear... then ponders...* Hmm, alright, I'm wishing for one meter of snow then, which will have to melt before June so that I'm not stuck in here when I have to go to the US ! : king : :smurf: 😛
Maybe you should try yoga for your weather control, you know, it helps... calming down 😛 he he he 😉

Ho Hum indeed KD...

And can we not mention said "lockout"... Its quite a depressing conversation that I'd rather not get into... *tear* Although, I'm quite interrested to hear if they have decided on using "scabs"... I'd so be in on that... Us girls will take over the NHL... *flexes*

OH and the ONLY good thing about snow, is its not so cold when it's snowing... Unless its windy... But yea... That, and it makes my ice-rink...

Is it you that's sending the snow over here, Gnome? You're in trouble if you did... I mean... tell the truth and I won't be mad!

That would be a really "extreme" sport...in my days playing proper hockey (aka field hockey) I always found that women with sticks were a lot scarier and more vicious than men with sticks 🙂

I agree 100%... I've played both "proper" and not so "proper" hockey... and with both guys and girls... and I have to admit that I've sustained most of my injuries from my female counterparts... Just getting out some frustrations I guess...

Nah, I'm innocent in this case...I can't get my frickin' cauldron out of the snow in the backyard to use it...

I've never played hockey against a female opponent, sorry to say. Not many girls played when I was young, and now that I'm old, not to many of my age group are playing...but any woman wielding a stick is to be avoided, I'm sure...

lol well they stopped me playing hockey. It wasn't my fault the other players were slow and in my way. Football was always my fave, but never with the girls, too soft. I used to play with the guys and they would never treat me different because I was a girl. I got my fair share of injuries but then again so did they 😉

The one thing I do love about the snow is taking the dog out she just goes mad.

YES! That too... My dog is insane... Hes still a puppy, but hes a Golden Retriever/Springer Spaniel mix... He tries to eat the snowflakes for hours... And only does his "business" in one area... Crazy dog...

Yay for puppies!!! Mine likes to roll around in it :D
"Proper" hockey my eye...It's not true hockey without a rubber puck moving 75 to 100mph and lotsa gritty body checks. Elbow pads are a necessity, that's why I'd be selling them...

OMG! At last someone who knows the saying "my eye" !!! Thanksssssss for this KD !!!
You tell 'em KD!! *growls*

Nothing beats the smell of the fresh ice right before you step on it... I live for pucks flying at me at incredible speeds (I'm a goalie)... Theres nothing in this world like that feeling of seeing someone speed towards you and knowing that they aren't getting anything past you...

(sorry, got a little nostalgic)
