We often talk about sharp, stimulating entertainment. Now I want to know what are your go to shows for mind-numbing entertainment? The type that is so bad its, good. You can include tv, movies, books, games or anything that is so lame, you love it.

I have 3 favourites of this category, The Bold and the Beautiful, Twilight and Im a Celebrity - get me out of here (Aussie version). Each have their own charms and appeals. What are yours?
 
I'm about to start watching Real Housewives of... which I'm pretty sure counts, lol, along with any of the other reality shows I can't help but watch on occasion.

As for shows (actual TV shows) and movies, I tend to watch what I like and I rarely subscribe to the 'so bad it's good' idea when it comes to that 🙂
 
Books so lame that I love them - YA books in general, but a special penchant for those released in the 80's-90's. They're ludicrous but a lot of fun. Whenever I want mindnumbing I go to a YA book. I just listened to "Burn for Burn" by Siobhan Vivian and Jenny Han and it was so lame (teenagers plotting revenge against their meanie peers) but a lot of fun. That or a crime novel by someone like Tess Gerritsen. they're usually pretty predictable, but that's part of the charm.

TV - sitcoms, How I met Your Mother has been a favorite to watch on repeat. They're usually pretty dumb and a lot of the jokes are lame, but it's such a great way to turn off your brain and just enjoy yourself for a little while.

Movies - kind of the same category as the books for me. I like silly teen films that are generally feel-good because the biggest drama is that some mean girl said a snarky thing and then everyone is happy by the end and no one thinks about the future or real problems. Like To all the boys I loved before, or A Cinderella Story, they're kind of all the same but I love it.

There are few so bad they are good. Usually they are just so bad they are bad. Bad one of the so bad it's good movies is Battlefield Earth.

no way - con air is just good good! apart from that bit where they chase John Malkovich on motorbikes through Las Vegas, which is just bad bad.

Im a Celeb is giving it a pretty good crack. This week featured a disgraced politician and 2 AFL (football) stars eating raw bulls testicles. A model, a tv host, a newsreader and a Hollywood guru shopping for rotten fish heads whilst being electrocuted and another politician secretly picking up metal objects with her arse.

Hope seems to be in direct competition with Brooke for most tears shed on Bold too 😛

I am so easily amused on days like this.
 
Oh I love things that are so bad they are good! Total guilty pleasures for me.

Reality TV....I like the Real Housewives, Vanderpump Rules, Jersey Shore
Teen Dramas like The OC, Gossip Girl, Dawson's Creek, Roswell
The Walking Dead
Some of those hallmark or lifetime Christmas movies can be entertaining
Books:
YA genre for sure
Twilight (the movies too!)
Crazy female thrillers a la Gone Girl
 
Probably ‘White Chicks’, it doesn’t make any logical sense but I could call it the funniest film I’ve ever seen. I love it 😀
And Riverdale - it’s really cringey and it has bad writing but yet I love watching it.
 
Some of the music played at the Bronze. Already Met You by Superfine - there couldn't have been a better choice to illustrate a trope of bad music being part of the live music scene.
 
In the mornings my favourite crap to watch are the ABC news and the ABC weather, what I find funny are the interviews with politicians.

The news as it is repeated every half hour with the mistake included.
The ABC weather as each towns has the towns name, the high and low temp plus if picture to show if its cloudy raining or sunny etc: Have a look at the Perth temps as the name Perth is nearly over Rottnest Island.

And none of the politicians answer the interviewers questions, that and they all tell lies.
 
Riverdale is one I might give another go to. I read it had gone supernatural a'la Passions?

It's certainly flirting with supernatural stuff this season. I think its made the show better.

Not it's not a supernatural show it felt like it was going supernatural and I think it could get supernatural soon, but it's not l confirmed as far as I know. Riverdale is my ultimate guilty pleasure show. The writing is so bad and it's so cringy but I can't stop watching

Bet the majority of their budget went on her 😀 I will reward them with my viewership. But not my money in votes.
 
I used to watch to Arrow-verse WB shows this way, not taking them too seriously and just enjoying the silly antics, but then they all just turned bad, repetitive and preachy. Arrow, Flash and SuperJW-Girl are pretty much pants now. I still watch Legends, which still seems to have fun with its premise.

I also really enjoy bad horror movies. Rent 3 or 4 of them and I'm happy for a good night in.
