Note: This post is long. Longer than most introduction posts should be. I tend to ramble. Feel free to skip over.
Well hey there 😀

My name is Jessica and I'm a huge fan of Buffy

*smacks forehead*

Well why else would I be here? As one of those spammers who only joins to sell things? God, those guys are annoying... (I should warn you I have a tendency to go off topic)

My dad is a big fan of the show and he's been pestering me to start watching for as long as I can remember (I'll admit I was reluctant...) so, finally, one day I decided I'd watch an ep with him to shut him up. It was the wonderful episode Hush, and I freaking loved it. I started to record all the episodes after that on SYFY and FX. I kinda just jumped right into it and missed so much, half the time I was just really confused with the overall arc of each season, so I just enjoyed the stand-alones, especially in S3.

While I loved the overall arc of S2 the standalones kinda suck, so since I didn't really get the whole Angelus thing at the time, I ranked season two as my least favourite. Weird, eh?

So this year, for my birthday I got the box set. Yay! I just got all caught up around a week ago and I needed to find a forum to talk to other people (my dad watches it for the sake of watching it so he won't really talk about it) and after lurking around for a bit I decided to join.

I don't know if I should watch Angel or not. I mean, it's and extension of Buffy, good enough for me, but Angel does not appeal to me at all. I don't feel anything towards his character. He seems so bland. Does he develop some form of personality on his own show?

I'm heading to the Bad Egg's part cause I'm kinda overwhelmed by all of this.

Jeez that was long wasn't it? I should warn you I tend to go on. And on. And on. And on a little longer.

Welcome to the boards Jessica 😀 Great intro post. You should definitely watch Angel he gets a lot more interesting on his show I find him very boring on Buffy but on Angel he's my second favorite character.

About 4 months ago I thought Buffy was a silly show made for silly little kids. lol! A friend forced me to watch it. Now I think it's probably the best show ever (along with The Simpson's).

I'm not quite sure if you've watched them all, but if not, stay away from this board!! Wait until you've finished them all. You don't want read about Xander in a Season 2 thread and and then read something like "Xander is Season 2 is so different from the Xander in the Season 7 finale!! I cried so hard when Buffy and Xander got married and had a little baby slayer." Spoilers are out there. Beware!

BTW, just kidding about the Season 7 finale....it's actually Willow and Xander who get married, Spike is Xander's best man, and they have a baby witch. 😉

It's so good your dad got you into BtVS world. 🙂 About Angel, he's really more interesting in his own show. I love Angel the series as much as BtVS. You'll find it as entertaining. 🙂

Okay, enough of my over-enthusiastic screaming. I'm not even sure why I like caps so much. Maybe it's because they make a statement. Anyways, most of us were reluctant to watch Buffy. I thought it would be a little strange and then my Social Studies teacher got us to watch Once More, With Feeling in class and I was hooked, although it took me ages to watch the actual show.

It's great that you're caught up now. I watched all the seasons in a really strange order, I've never watched them straight through because I had to rent them and it was confusing. Some video stores didn't have certain seasons yada, yada, yada. My story is so freakin' complicated. But it's great that you've joined the fandom.

It took me ages to watch Angel, I just couldn't come around to it. I agree that he's bland and meh in Buffy but he does develop his own personality. I hated him until he got his own show--he was just boring to me. But the show is great. It's no Buffy, and some of season 1 is absolutely dull but once you get past the problems, I'm sure you'll like it. And there's episodes with Spike in them and Spike comes in for Season Five which is great, 'cause I love Spike. Even the Bangel episode of the show is good.

But enough of my talking! I'm sure you'll love it here.

You should give Angel a go. Like you, I think he's boring and has no personality on BtVS - but that does change once he gets his own show. Try it and see. 🙂
