So it was Jasmine as Amnesia-Cordy in Spin the Bottle?

I'm rewatching Spin the Bottle so after they cast the spell, every part of the episode post-spell is Jasmine posing as Amnesia-Cordy?

sorry it doesn't make sense.
 
I have a theory (non-bunny, I promise)

I think that when they all started to feel the affects (that "trippy" sensation) cordy was experiencing something else. she was struggling with something. and when she says, "we can't just....we have to!" and then smashes the bottle it's her last act as herself. she sees something trying to control her and she fights it....

then of course, they all forget who they are, and when lorne gives them each a taste of what's inside the bottle, jasmine takes over.
 
Bottom line is, none of the Jasmine stuff makes sense. None of the proposed timelines match up or mesh with one another, and the notion by Skip in "Inside Out" that Jasmine has really secretly been steering evens since S1 not only doesn't make sense, but is just beyond stupid.

I'm a pretty big Angel fan, and I can't even begin to narrow down when Jasmine "officially" took over Cordelia, despite what Skip says. It's much easier as a fan to just assume that he's lying, because nothing makes sense otherwise.
 
Did Amnesia-Cordy Stepping On The Bottle in "Spin the Bottle"

Release Jasmine? I've been very confused by that take and have been analyzing it for awhile now.

Is that Jasmine in Cordy's body smashing the bottle?

Jasmine is in Cordy's body from when she comes back from the higher plane. From what I remember, when Cordy got her memory back at the end of Spin the Bottle that was what activated Jasmine. Smashing the bottle has nothing to do with releasing Jasmine.
 
This is my theory. While everyone was feeling the psychedelic affects of the spinning of the bottle, Cordy, was experiencing something else. She was starting to remember who she was, which - was leading up to Jasmine awakening and taking over.... I don't think Cordy necessarily saw or sensed Jasmine, but think she did get a glimpse of the beast, and had a sense of *something* taking over her body. Which is why, I believe, that her last act as herself, was to smash the bottle.

Only when Lorne fed her the ingredients of the bottle, did it activate Jasmine's takeover of the person that was Cordelia Chase.
 
The whole thing confuses me so much that I almost just try and pretend that Cordelia died and Jasmine morphed into her body. I honestly don't even think the writers knew what they were doing.
 
Yeah considering they wrote the pregnancy into the story because Charisma really was pregnant I have a hard time believing any of the pre conceived stuff too.
 
I think it was Cordy-Cordy smashing the bottle, believing in the state she was in, that it was the right and helpful thing to do. They were all pretty out of it at that point so it's not hard to guess that she felt some fear and terror at what was approaching and perhaps believed smashing the bottle would stop it.
 
That whole storyline is a mess tbh. But The only time I felt I saw the real Cordelia in S4 was when we got those close up shots of her yelling for help in the higher plane. Though I question if she was ever in the real plane where the powers were if Jasmine was able to inhabit her body. Once Cordelia came back to Earth and we see her standing in the hotel, thats Jasmine. Well to me anyway. Skip was also a liar, he lied and manipulated Cordelia to her to ascend to who knows where. I also take what he says with a grain of salt. Jasmine was also a very convincing liar. I believe it was Jasmine who smashed the bottle because somehow she knew doing that would make every revert back into teens and keep everyone distracted from what was going on with Cordelia. Plus they all tried killing Angel. Gets him out of the way for Jasmine. It wasn't until Lorne found the solution where I believe Jasmine was able to get Cordy's memories and use them to her advantage and play Angel.

Jasmine doesn't have Cordy's memories so she plays the insomniac..

From stuff I have read apperntly due to buffy s 7 and firefly and Angel s 4 the whole season of angel it was kind of a make up as we go along but considoring thaat , they did a good job I think

I concur here that nothing that supposedly explained Jasmine's birth made sense. The events throughout the past seasons that Skip named as having been significant along with Cordy's being called to be a higher being don't match up with anything. Why would Lorne's mysterious introduction to the earth dimension or Wesley's sex life with Lila have any significance to Jasmine? While the death of Gunn's sister and Fred's imprisonment in Pylea led them to Angel Investigations again failing to see the tie to Jasmine. Nor do I understand why she needed Connor, why couldn't she have been fathered by Angel? In theory this may have strengthened her spell on him which would have been a plus for her. Angelus/Angel had been the biggest player she had wanted on her side judging by Cordy/Jamine's attempt to manipulate him through the BeastMaster persona, which also did not make sense. Why the beast? And why then did Jasmine tell Angel that in her utopia he could actually banish Angelus?

Cordy's returning from the higher plane never was explained, though he was threatened to answer that, Skip never actually revealed the connection between it and Jasmine nor the amnesia. Which brings me to the question here, when Angel Investigations was was trying to piece together all the significant events of season 4, it was suggested that somehow Jasmine had been activated when Lorne gave Cordy the amnesia antidote. But further than this I myself don't understand.
 
I believe that Jasmine has manipulated Cordelia already from the third season. When in "Birthday", Cordelia agreed for becoming part demon, from that moment she stopped being herself, and Jasmine controlled Cordy all the time.

They made clear that Jasmine didn't begin until after Cordy returned from the higher plane, but that significant events from the past seasons had been stepping stones on the path to Jasmine though there is no sense in how they explain that.
