So the reason why Amy turned Willow into Warren in The Killer in Me is explained in season 8?
 
No, it was mentioned in TKIM. She wanted to hurt Willow. She didn't know how the spell would work exactly, but it seemed pretty clear that she knew it would hurt her.
 
Yeah Amy explained it to Willow in Season 7, she said she did a spell that lets the subconsciousness choose the outcome, Willow was still dealing with guilt over Warren, so she was turned into Warren.
