There's always a possibility she could. How big a possibility, OTOH...
But even if she writes one, Disney owns the rights. She'd have to go through them to get it made.

Are you saying that Disney owns the rights to all vampire film that may be made?

It is occasionally the case that the copyright owner will license another studio to do a project if they don't plan to, e.g. Serenity. But I'm not aware SMG has tried her hand at screenwriting? Amber Benson and Chris Golden could write it maybe and Alyson Hannigan could save them money on props by bringing along the stuff she kept from the sets. 🙂

Disney isn't really the choke point for all this. If I recall correctly, SMG and company are free to find another source of financing if they wish to. Let us also remember, Disney was somewhat okay with the Slayers audio play.
If anything, Sarah's unwillingness to have Buffy The Vampire Slayer in your series titled 'Buffy, The Vampire Slayer" is what did the new show in.

@ILLYRIAN Since you said a slayer I assumed you were talking about a Buffy slayer setting script.

I read the Original premise as "Off Brand Buffy."

I was thinking, "Obsession" is basically a Buffy episode, right? Do an anthology series. Target it towards whatever age group "Are You Afraid of The Dark" was targeted to. Buy a couple horror script, punch it up, have an original cast member show up at the end to fix the villain, do the finale as a reunion. Or just hosting duties. Put it on Freeform. Something like "Buffy Presents: Teen Horror Tales." That way, Sarah's in every episode, doesn't have to do much.
