I want to watch Dollhouse. I really do. Same with Firefly.

Problem is: it was cancelled.

I dont want to get involved with the story, and then have an abrupt ending, so my question is this:

Does Firefly and Dollhouse at least have a conclusion to the story? Or did they end it on a cliffhanger and leave questions unanswered *ahem dark angel ahem*
 
Alright, ill give them a shot.

Nothing is worse than getting into a good show to have it just end out of nowhere!
 
Firefly has Serenity the movie that kinda comes after the series which is cool to.

I'm not into Dollhouse, but if you're a Whedon fan then you should definitely give them a shot.

Both show are great. Like Cait said, Firefly has Serenity the movie. And I really loved it. I'm not about what the others think, though.

Dollhouse is like a new thing. It's different from other shows on TV and gives you great messages. Season 2 is the best. You should check it out. 🙂
 
Yup both shows are fab, and you'll probably won't like Dollhouse s1 at first, but give it a chance at least cause s2 is awesome!!
And they do end well, not any cliffhangers..
And yeah if you do watch Firefly, make sure you watch Serenity!!
 
Both shows are good. But Firefly has Serenity to answer your questions and it's got better characters. I watched the 2 seasons of Dollhouse, and season 2 is the best but I could never get into it.
 
Good choice. Don't forget to let us know what you thinkm in the Firefly area. No matter if it's good or bad.
 
Firefly is amazing! The movie gives it an ending, but it would have been better if it hadn't been forced to condense what would have most likely been the plot of a season (or longer) into a movie. I am glad the movie exists, because it is what made me watch the show. I also didn't want to watch it after I heard that it was cancelled... but then gave it a shot after I heard that it was getting a movie. Again... show is amazing!

I have watched three episodes of Dollhouse and have yet to find it more than just okay. The idea for the show is interesting enough... even if it is rather creepy that Echo is basically just a part of a program with the most expensive prostitutes ever. I am trying to like this show, but so far it is not giving me characters that I care about... and that is usually the thing Whedon does very very well!
 
Firefly is made of pure awesome. I've re-watched it a bunch just like Buffy and Angel.
I tried to re-watch Dollhouse though and I couldn't even force myself, but there is just zero interest to see it again.
 
Yeah, I wanna watch Dollhouse too and I HATE cliffhangers when shows get cancelled. That happened in 10 Things I Hate About You and I was soo pissed off.
 
Firefly is a phenomenal show that's well worth watching even with the abrupt ending. You'll love it. I promise.

As for Dollhouse, the first season is mediocre, but if you can get through that, the second season is a big improvement.

Firefly ends a bit... unfinished, but the movie ties together lots of lose ends, while still leaving us wanting more. There's a few decent comics made to fit into the storyline as well.
 
Firefly the series didn't have a conclusive ending, it was cut off before the story arc really got going, however they did then fill all the story in and finish it off in the film Serenity. Truthfully, you should watch this. I can't recommend it highly enough. Takes a bit of effort, with it basically being cowboys in space an all, but I assure you it is one of the best, most well written and engaging series there has ever been. You'll not regret investing your time in this show.

Dollhouse also got cancelled, yes, but only in season 2, and they did get enough notice to be able to refocus and tell the whole story through to an incredible, moving and impressive end. This series is also great and a "must see". It's depth is subtle, but very rewarding if you give it your full attention.

Watch these two series. They are as rich and rewarding as Buffy was.

I've downloaded the whole of this (1&2) in HD, good thing about a series being cancelled is that you can get the whole thing in one night. I know it's not meant to be great but it is good, right? I saw the pilot once and didn't think too much but considering Buffy, Angel, Firefly & Dr Horrible I have faith in Whedon.

I much prefer Firefly over Dollhouse, BUT I still think Dollhouse is great. I loved it! However it took me a few episodes to get properly into it and understand what was going on. And even then I loved Season 2 much more than Season 1.I think it's definatley worth sticking with until the end, even if you're not impressed right at the start. Personally I think it's a bit different to Buffy & Firefly, but it still has that Whedonesque air about it. It's still one of my favourite TV shows.
 
Dollhouse was garbage. What is to be said of a series when the best episode of the first season was never aired and could only be seen on DVD? The first season was abysmal and the second season was not much better. There were maybe 5 episodes worth watching and the remaining can be eliminated without sacrificing the 'story.'

The premise and idea was fascinating... but neither Joss nor Eliza could pull it off.

I think the fact that it jumps right in contributes to the interesting mystery.
What Dollhouse lack in comparision to Whedon's other work to me is mostly the amount of charm and humour. It got both but not nearly as much. To me it got some amazing moments but the show as a whole isn't amazing. It had a lot of potential but didn't live up to it. Still I'm definitely getting the second season on dvd at some point when I have the money. So not like I think it's awful by any means.
