So Twilight is the Nexus from Star Trek Generations?

Buffy and Angel banging across the universe? Sounds like V-ger and Captain Dekker from Star Trek The Motion Picture. Two lives merging to create a new species. Then Buffy and Angel in this perfect bliss world but they can choose to leave whenever they want? Sounds like the Nexus from Generations when Kirk and Picard choose to give up perfect happiness to save the world.

This whole Twilight story has become a mess like a shoe that's come untied. Hopefully Joss can pull the laces nice and tight and put a big bow on it.

Okay - first off the Borg weren't in "Generations", they were in "First Contact".

But I'll admit I hadn't really thought of the whole comparison between Buffy and Angel in twilight with the Nexus from "Generations". But after point that out - I'm starting to think that maybe Generations was Joss' insparation for twilight.

I really need to brush up on my Star Trek knowledge. I feel like a bad sci-fi enthusiast. I saw a book on the philosophy of Star Trek at the library. I think I'll check it out. I keep meaning to start watching the episodes from the beginning on DVD.

I was so eager to see the remake movie but ended up not watching it. I was like "Star Trek and hot guys and Zoe Saldana!"

There are certainly similarities. Soran was willing to destroy a solar system and kill millions of people to enter the Nexus. Angel seems willing to let demons invade earth to enter Twilight. There is the whole perfect reality thing. However, the Nexus reality is more of an illusion.
