So, I was thinking last night, and this thought came to me. Who was meant to be older, The Master or Kakistos? It's a random question, just Kakistos was 'So old his hands and feet were cloven' and if the Master was that old he would be the same, right? But the Master is what, 600 and something? So I thought, then who's older?
 
I think I remember this question being asked somewhere else, not on this forum, and the most logical answer at that time was that Kokistos was a pre- or non-human species that never really evolved past the barely humanoid stage whereas the Master was just a mutated human. If true, that would make Kokistos much older. As I said, this is by no means an OFFICIAL explanation, just some fan's conjecture.
 
Its also just as possible they are the same age but the vampire demon affected different changes within the human body.
Maybe looking like a ram and looking like a man too long in the bath are as common place as a Chinese looking man and an African Black man.

We don't really have many Vampires that live as long as these two in the shows to compare and there is certainly no evidence that one was 'meant' to be older than another.
 
Okay. Well, both of those explanations could have some truth in it, thanks for helpin' out =]
 
I'm going to vote that Kakistos was older.

I'm going strictly on names and appearances here. First of all, names: the name Kakistos is not only Greek, but also ancient Greek from an era in which surnames were not carted around around. The Master? That's a title, one very fitting for a feudal sort of guy from feudal times -- a guy who seems bent on creating a mini-empire on a small patch of Earth and, to help him run it, of siring those who will owe him reverence fealty. Ancient Greek versus medieval title? I'm gonna go with Kakistos.

Their different appearances do seem to be in-line with that time-frame. The Master still looks like a human (albeit an albino one), just like a human who is starting to lose his human traits to wrinkles and pointyness. Kakistos, with his cloven hooves and reddish skin, seems further along in that process.

Just my two cents. I think The Master is an itty bitty baby next to Kakistos.
 
In one Buffy book I read, he was supposedly so old he came from 'ancient Greece'

It would seem that Kakistos is older... but in the show, The Master seems alot more 'badass' and is around longer, maybe that's why we see him as older ??
 
I think Kakistos was older but The Master had more power

Why did they say the master was 600 and Kakistos from ancient Greece then, did they accidental have the age of 600 for the Master, once i thought i might of heard he's been around since the days when demons walked the earth, but I didn't know if I actually remembered that. When I looked to see how old the master was it said 600 so I couldn't have heard that could I? idk they both were weird looking, I thought the whole, vampires never age and will have 'good looks' forever thing should be true! They shouldn't live so long that they start looking like ram people or dried up vegetables!
