So, you think you're weird?

There's a few things, but not very many. I don't know, I'm quirky but I don't really know my quirks if you know what I mean.

- If I'm going to clean my room I really have to set time aside. Once I start, I actually can't stop. I HAVE to clean every single part of my room. I will throw almost everything out, I will move things, I will clean every surface and make my bed and everything. You can't just get me to pick a few things up off the floor because it will turn into this big thing. I'm not a naturally tidy person though, LOL.

- Much like Zoe, I have the obsession thing. Me and my sister make up random games, plots we make ourselves which can be as random and outragous as we like. Then we improvise around them, we play them. So, we have our characters in certain things, right? Once I get obsessed with something new, it carries into that. It'll become all I talk about, think about and all of that. I'm learning that I can be obsessed with more than one thing at a time these days but I used to not be able to. I'm super obsessed with Buffy, obviously and right now, Gilmore Girls is a HUGE one. I seriously try to learn heaps and I'll create new plots for our games and everything. It's fun.

- Again, like Zoe, I have this thing where I can't not sing along to a song I know and like. This has been going on since I was a little girl. I can't just listen, it's impossible. If I have to just listen, I will lip sync. In the car, I put the iPod on and I sing along and that's it. It's really strange. Some people think it's strange, I don't even care who's in the car. I just...I can't not sing along.

- Going along with the singing thing, I CAN'T SING REALLY BADLY. It's really annoying when I just want to let my guard down because I can't really go crazy with the singing thing. I'm not like saying I'm the best singer or anything but I always sound too good for craziness. LOL.

- I can't go five minutes without touching my hair. I've tried, I just can't.

I'll think of more later. 😀

the room thing... that is me exactly
I have to check everything is turned off at least 3-4 times before leaving home. I'm the same way when it comes to the door. I spent almost 2 minutes just making sure it's locked properly. I find it annoying, but, I can't stop. 🙁

I daydream a lot, but, only about crazy things. I always end up imagining fighting monsters and saving the guy/girl I like from them, haha. Don't really mind this, to be honest. Think it's fun. 😀

I like being around people, but, after a while, I get uncomfortable and need some alone time. I think I'm way too used to being on my own. Not sure it's a good thing. 😕

Well, apparently I'm a bit peculiar according to people.
And I don't know why. Okay, I have clues.

- I'd rather drink those kids drinks who taste like candy than drink alcohol. And like said before, I'm afraid of losing control of what I do. And I don't even like the taste of alcohol (except for my occasionnal cherry or peach beer, Sex on the beach or Mojito).

- People always make big eyes to my hyperness. Well, I don't know if I'm really hyper but it's the common conclusion. When I consume too much sugar, well, I might as well be drunk you wouldn't see the difference.

- They also make big eyes when I say I never had a boyfriend. It goes from "How come YOU never had a boyfriend with those boobs?" to "Really? You never had a boyfriend? But you are funny and nice and cute and smart and what on earth is going on in men's mind?" (it goes from the douche who wants to get laid to the gay who wants to make me meet his "straight-not-as-fabulous-as-me-brother"). The only time a guy actually asked me out, it was "because he liked my attitude and things were not great with his girlfriend and he thought about leaving her".

- At my Facebook addiction peaks, people always ask me "Do you EVER sleep??? O.O". I get that a lot.

- I don't like feet. Like seriously, I just don't. And I don't like to walk bare feet either (but I do enjoy walking shoeless when I'm wearing tights).

- I don't believe in painkillers. I hardly ever take medicines because I just don't feel any effect, it feels like all those are just placebos.

- I hate vegetables and never eat any, and still manage to cook good stuff!

- Even if Disney's movies used to make me dream, I boycott most of them now because I think it just accomodate young kids to manicheism and to stick to what is expected to their gender (except for Mulan). It makes little boy feel important and little girls feel like they need a prince in their life. When I say that people are like "...but it's Disney! "

- If something has a huuuuuuge success, I will automatically not want to see it.

- I count a lot. The pages I still have to study. How many shoes I have. How many chocolate I ate. Things like that.

- When I go to the bathroom, the first thing I do is to check if there isn't any spider in it.

- I don't like having people around when I cook. It's like "sacred work here, don't disturb the peace". When my mums lurks in the kitchen I kind of chase her.

- I feel strongly about people. I feel "this one I can't trust". This one I don't know well but has a lot of potential. Give it time and this one will blossom. This one is good at everything but has a terrible lack of self-confidence which he tries to hide but it's so obvious. I'm good at feeling people (if I know them a bit, like if they are in my classroom or something).

- I always say hi in a very high-pitched, singing voice. I don't do it on purpose. Sometimes people are surprised.

- I am, apparently, a girl who bounces when she speaks.

- And the weirdest (and most annoying thing) is that I can't stand having people behind my back. When I go to the hairdresser, I always move like I had a bee in my bra because I just physically can't stand it. Same with massages. If you try that to relax me, it's a fail, it only has the opposite effect. Actually I don't like having people just in front of me either. That one time friends tried to put make up on my face, I did the crazy-bee-in-the-bra-dance and they had to make me picture cupcakes to calm me down. Or when the dentist put me braces, I moved so much that her assistant and my mum had to hold me still. It's just so annoying 🙁

Lots of people (well people in england anyway, I don't know about the rest of the world) drink tea. I hate tea, I just don't understand why people like it, its VILE. Even my little sister likes it, everyone does! Except me.
Also, every night before I go to sleep I look at the clock and every morning when I wake up I look again, and roughly see how many hours sleep I've had. (But I don't do the exact minutes, i'm not that weird 🙂 )

Z
zobothehobo
Aw man, I do the exact minutes between when I looked at the clock and when I looked at the clock! I know it's not really sleep because it takes me sometime to fall asleep after looking at the clock, but I love doing that!!

Over here too, people love tea but I hate it! (unless it's Ice Tea :D)

I look at the clock to. But to see if I can justify another hour of sleep or if I really need to get up, having slept too much.

I've noticed that some of my favoriet Disney movies are something I'd not like to show to my kids, if I ever have any.

Beauty & the beast: Stockholm Syndrome.

Snowwhite: Don't kiss dead girls, creep.

Cinderella: Can't remember the movie well, but apparently, dancing skills and looking good will get you married.

People complain about Twilight ruining your minds, but look at the vids you used to watch as a child before you complain.

Hah! My 7yr old knows HP and Buffy...but I refuse to let her watch anything "princess."
I hate eating in front of men, especially ones I like.
I hate eating on skype, although I don't mind if others do, I just can't do it myself lol.
I hate going to public toilets or toilets in other peoples houses.
When I butter my toast/bread it has to go to all the corners or it feels wrong!

I like my space, I hate being crowded by people.
I will not use the bathroom if someone else is in it or if someone is close to it.
Sometimes if I clean something it HAS to be perfect.
I write my favorite quotes over everything.
I can not doodle, if I start it becomes a very complicated piece of art.

I use to have a lot of unusual lifestyle habits, I don't have so many now, but some of the ones I used to have when I was a kid or a teenager were that I didn't eat any fruit or green vegetables, I always had to have the parts of my dinner on a separate part of the plate and then mix them together as I ate them, I had to judge when I was exactly halfway through my dinner as that was the time to start my drink that I had with my dinner. Basically, it all revolves around being a very picky eater 😀 One I still have to do with eating is that I hold my knife and fork in an unusual way that other people often comment on. It seems natural to me though so I just stick with it 🙂

I like fantasising about bad things happening to me and people I love. I got a martyr complex.

Well, I don't like it, but I need it. I guess it's similar to cutting, just emotional.

I have been described as disarming...but I don't know that I'd ever be described as quirky. My husband would probably be able to identify more weird things that I do, but I am only aware of my extremely annoying case of Vasovagal Syncope. I faint at the sight or mention of needles. In my house, we call them the "n word." It was terribly inconvenient when I was pregnant because I fainted every time they drew blood. I scared the nurses when I went in while in labor because I passed out getting my IV. I would rather watch open heart surgery than see someone have an IV put in.

I've mentioned my fear of ostriches many times, and I guess that my aversion to body hair that isn't on my head or plucked eyebrows is sort of a quirk as well.

I have the same vasovagal reaction to having blood drawn, only it has only made me actually faint once! Glad to hear everything worked out with your pregnancy in spite of it! I always think about that...
I love the spotlight. In middle school, I decided it was better to be made fun of if I tried to get made fun of than to not... so I made a game. I tried to be as outrageous as I could be to get people's attention. I stopped doing that in high school. However, my reputation from middle school carried over to high school and since I'm naturally a strange person, people were obsessed with me. I could update my facebook status via text message at 9 and by 9:40 when we got out of class, everyone knew it. If you went to my high school when I did, you knew me.. or at least of me and what I looked like. Because of this, I got a taste of fame... I miss it so much. I miss people around me just knowing who I am. I miss people not having to ask my name. I miss the random people I don't even know stopping me to say "hey Zoà«!" I miss it all. So every time I get the spotlight and I get to let new strangers know who I am, I love it.

Exact same way. Only, people generally call me Tabby. 😛

-I'm ADHD but I HATE medication. I feel it cuts me and my creative potential in at least half. I'm so dull on the medicine. I've tried several different ones and I just can't find one that doesn't kill most of what makes me love me. I love that my mind is always wondering and that I can actually think about two things at one time. That's my favorite thing about me... and all of the medicine kills that. Of course, that's what it's designed to do.

And this, only I'm bipolar and not ADHD. I recently learned that mania is actually lots of energy, not happiness... and depression is the opposite. Even though medicine is supposed to even me out, that's just doctor speak for it kills my energy. I love having the feeling that I could do anything, even if part of me knows that it's not exactly healthy. I love having the energy to go to school, go work out, get on the computer and do all that stuff, do my chores, play DDR, and then not be tired when I should be. I even like depression, because it's just when I sit around and dream- even if my body is in a depression, my mind is going a thousand miles an hour.

Okay, other, more original stuff:

-I still sleep with my teddy bear because I can't sleep anywhere that doesn't smell familiar.

-I can't remember anything in a textbook that I read, but if you read it to me, I have a stunning memory. However, if I'm reading fiction or for pleasure, it's the exact opposite.

- I tend to say out loud what things smell like, but oddly... like this morning I said the bus stop smelled like Florida. And the woods smell like autumn, even though it's spring. And lavender smells like my cat.

- Bossy is a huge turn on for me.

- I enjoy being "difficult" (so says my mom) but I know when to stop. In other words, I'm a debater and like playing the devil's advocate, even if I believe what you believe.

- I like being an "expert" in things. Goes back to what Zoe said and I quoted. I like people to look at me, if I know stuff, they will.

Oh I also have the smelling thing, like "Today smells like spring but we are in winter!" or "Ugh, the air here smells like car air/bus air/train air" and stuff like that!
I hate eating in front of men, especially ones I like.
I hate eating on skype, although I don't mind if others do, I just can't do it myself lol.
I hate going to public toilets or toilets in other peoples houses.
When I butter my toast/bread it has to go to all the corners or it feels wrong!

It makes me thing about...I won't eat when I'm alone in a public place. I remember at a moment, I was always too early for sport so I was waiting and eating in the subway station right next to the gym. It was pretty much always empty. But when a subway was passing, I would just stop eating until it left.
On the other hand, I also hate to eat in a silent place. I'm quite disgusted by mastication noises-and don't want to produce some myself.
Oh, and as I'm in the self-conscious subject, when I sleep in the same room than someone else, I can't fall asleep before the person is asleep and I hear her loud breathe.
Because people made me notice a few times that I breathe loudly. I don't snort, I just breathe loudly (even in the day). So since I know that, I feel extremelly noisy as long as the person is not asleep, so I just can't fall asleep first! I think I got that from my mum, because when we go on a trip and share the room...she breathes so loudly it's opressing and I can't find my own breathing-pace.

I'm allergic to watermelon and cantaloupe, and they are two of my favorite fruits.

I have some odd people fears...ok one person in particular.

I can snap my toes, and also move my first two toes separately from my last three toes on both feet

I pop my knuckles compulsively

I am perhaps the clumsy-est person alive; I run into everything

I can't reminder to shut drawers or cabinets...drives my hubby crazy.

I get annoyed when people don't pick things up as quickly as I do (learning wise). If they don't get it on the first try, I just want to take over and do it cause it's faster. I have a really hard time slowing down for other people....I'm not the best trainer/teacher.....

I can't stand long toe nails. Grossest thing ever. Next to body hair, that is.

I love walking barefoot outside in the grass and dirt, unless it's summer and just too hot, cause that hurts. I don't wear shoes except when i'm in public and have to. I also have flat feet...

I feel your flat feet pain.
I have to have headphones on my head that aren't connected to anything when I go to bed. Otherwise I can't sleep.
These days, It's actually done out of old habit more than anything else. As a child, around five years old, when I went to bed at night and the lights were all out, I swear I could hear breathing coming from under my bed. (!!) As a result I would do stuff to try to block it out. I figured if I couldn't hear it, it would go away. 😛
So I would just cover my ears with things. Years later, I still MUST have something over my ears, or I'll just lay there wide awake.

More weirdness? Okay.....I whip up raw pancake batter and use it as dip. My poor wife always turns green when I do that. 😛

MandaMeena
MandaMeena
I slather left over pancake batter on my pancakes all the time! So delish!
I collect teapots, I've been told that's a little weird.

I'm also rather OCD when it comes to organisation. I used to put my books into alphabetical order and then by genre when I was little, it was always a fun way to spend the morning.
I check my alarm clock like 5 times before going to sleep to make sure I don't wake up late and miss something important.

I also can't listen to music without singing along to it, even if it's a song I despise.

¡Que à¡sco! Gross... *barfs* LOL

In the same nature as OM3.0 here, I like to dip my bacon in maple syrup. Ok, not dip. More like completely soak it and drench it and omg i'm getting hungry. Also, I eat chocolate covered bat wings.

As for things that I HAVE to do,I have to sleep with AC. Every night no matter what the weather is like. Even in the winter, when it's snowing. It's not so much used for the chilly air, but more so for the gentle soft sound it makes. I can't sleep if it's dead silent. It gives me the creeps 😛

Like Jo, I cannot sleep in dead silence. My favorite sound to sleep to is the soft hum of my computer fan. I have several white noise apps on my phone and if I don't fall asleep with my computer on and running (which I don't like to do beause it makes my computer run slower) I have to have one of those apps or a fan or heater running. Currently, my favorite app and sound in the app is "Relax and Sleep" on Andriod on the AC setting. But I rotate through them. I just got done with my rotation of the two ceiling fan settings together in the Household Pack of the "Lightning Bug" app in the Android market.

Speaking of that app, I love it because it also has a setting called "cat purr." Since moving back to my mother's house two weeks ago, I've come to miss my cats SO much. I've learned to put that app on cat purr, put it in my pillow case and call my phone from the house phone while the ringer is on vibrate. The purring doesn't stop and it feels like a cat purring.

I don't know what noise helps me sleep. I have an app.lol
Hmm ok weird things about me....

-I put vinegar on everything or nearly everything I eat. Pasta, potatos, chips, porkchops, steak, chicken, vegetables, pizza...lots of things. I also drink it out of the bottle...I have like an addiction to vinegar.
-I used to have to have even numbers for everything. When I was going through the turnstyle I had to go through the even number one. If I went through and odd one I went back through and even and then back through and odd so it added up to be an even number lol. I would also count the number of steps I took and eat everything in twos.
-I have to sleep with the tv on and when I was little I had to have the light on to. I HATE silence.
-When I was little I didnt play with other kids instead I would make up 6 imaginary friends and race them around the block. And sometimes I would lose lol.
-I was a copy cat but mostly when it came to getting hurt. Like my friend when I was 5 hit his thumb with a hammer so I did too. Or in 7th grade my friend cut his hand with a scissor by accident and so I did too...yes I'm weird.
-I also would do anything my best friend did as a dare. Like lick fungus on a tree.
-I work myself up into hysterical fits of laughter and once I get going I cant stop for like five minutes. And I will be laughing at nothing.
-I have to sit with my legs stretched out in front of me and I always end up tripping people on the train.
-I have to have one of my cats in the bathroom with me when I shower...I dont like to be alone lol
-I LOVE fire...like im seriously a pyro. I set things on fire all the time. I tried making a bonfire in a plastic cup....it didnt go very well.
-I'm ADHD and can be extremely random. I will be talking about one thing and interupt myself. But I stopped taking my meds three years ago because all my friends told me I was boring when I took it.
-I always announce when I have to pee, and then dont go until hours later.
-I randomly rename my cats. I have four their names are: Chrissy, Shiba, Charlie and Boo. I renamed Boo twice already to Fernando and then Guillermo. I changed Shiba to Arabella. Chrissy to Ruth. and I dont remember Charlie lol.
-I dont eat cereal because I'm afraid of the crfs that hide in the boxes O_O
