Social Groups?

This is a really cool idea, well I'm first - wow thats a first hahaha - what are the social groups like cos there are so many to choose from and if like me, once you are in the boards the time flies and then I wonder if I will have time to go into them and chat?!? Have I made any sense here??

The social groups are just a place for fans of a certain aspect of the show to hang out. You don't need to go in there in chat, in fact, not a lot of people do.

Hey There,

So like clemxens said, the Social Groups are a place to talk to other fans of a certain aspect of the Jossverse. They work the same basic way as the boards, in that members can create Discussions inside and reply to them pretty much the same way that you would reply to a thread. These are just a smaller setting to talk to BB-ers about a particular interest you have.

If you're a Spike Fan for example, you could join this club here: Buffy-Boards

And discuss any news about upcoming Spike projects, talk about your favourite Spike moments/quotes or maybe even start a debate as to who you think he should end up with some day. Anything Spike related can be discussed there (so long as it's family friendly, of course).

These aren't something that you necessarily have to post in every day, so if you don't get to check up on them for a few days you'll still be able to jump back into the discussions. And if you ever feel like you don't have the time for a Social Group after all, you can leave them at any time using the link at the bottom of the Social Group's main page. 🙂

I would say, if it's overwhelming, don't worry about the Social groups for now. Just start small - you won't be missing anything if you don't jump into everything right away 🙂

how does one become part of a social group?

1. At the top of any BB page, there is a tab called "Community": click there

2. A drop-down menu should appear. Click on "Clubs & Groups"

3. You should be taken to the main page for BB's Social Groups. Click the "View All Groups" link, just to the bottom right of the "Random Group" box.

4. Now you'll be given a complete list of all the Groups and Fan Clubs that we have on BB. Scroll through the list and click on the group that you'd like to join.

5. Once the group's page has loaded, scroll to the bottom and click on the "Join Group" link.

6. When you're prompted, click "Yes" and a join request will be sent to the mod who maintains the group. Your request should be approved within a couple days, and you will be granted access to the group 🙂

These are actually a project that have been put on hold, since the groups have been so inactive lately. They're in the process of being phased out and used only for board events, so that's why you can't access them. 🙂 Sorry about that!
