Actually, I remember how suspicious I was when I noticed some of these people were reading a teleprompter during an "impromptu" interview right after the shooting. Hmmm...


Parkland School Shooting Survivors Subject Of Conspiracies



LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Conspiracy theorists are attacking the credibility of the Parkland school shooting survivors.

In one case they are using a months-old CBS2 report to do it.

Last August CBS2 interviewed David Hogg about a confrontation in Redondo Beach between a lifeguard and a bodysurfer that was caught on camera.

Hogg is also a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who was there the day of the tragic shooting and is among the many faces and voices speaking out about gun control in the wake of the Valentine’s Day attack.

Some extreme right-wing websites are claiming he is not a Parkland student but instead an actor with an agenda.

The CBS2 interview with Hogg last August now has several right-wing websites and social media abuzz, questioning whether Hogg is really a student who endured the shooting or if he is an actor trying to take advantage of the tragedy. Some have bought the story.

While there are professional protestors/trolls for hire (Trump hired some as part of his campaign strategy) so that it's possible, I never bought into this, and they'll need to offer genuine proof (the kind that can hold up in court) before I believe it. I used to hang around people passionate about the 2A (2nd amendment) and their inclination to interpret the facts in bizarre ways and ascribe conspiracy to get rid of the second amendment has always been silly to me, even back when I was (dispassionately) against any gun regulation myself. The government could easily create more gun regulations (bit by bit, not some grand gun grab) all too easily if they wanted with plenty of public support.

If someone else is hiring them then it begs the question why, since I don't believe our taxes would be paying for such actors as the government doesn't need them (at least not for gaining support for more gun regulations) and would be creating one more thing that could go wrong if it was some conspiracy.

When I noticed some of these people reading a teleprompter during an interview I was immediately suspicious. I cannot think of a reasonable explanation for a teleprompter being in an interview.

It's fishy, really fishy. Serious red flag...and food for thought.

I personally have my own opinion on this whole actor thing but I am not going into it in an open forum! Where government eyes could be watching what I say.

I only became aware of this stuff after all that fake news hullabaloo. It never crossed my mind before 2016. Now I question most things.

Mass shootings in the US dont really spark any emotion in me anymore, there have just been SO many. Aussies are still reeling over our 1996 massacre.

I find this conspiracy theory very callous. Children died in this shooting. Claiming that the Left set this up to push anti-gun propaganda seems to be in very poor taste and turns a tragedy with real loss of life into a political circus. It's cruel, IMO.

It's morbidly fascinating to me how politics affects this. In some cases people have a lot of empathy and compassion for children until it's politically inconvenient, and then they just don't care. And then others practically spit on children but suddenly rend their garments "over the children" when it becomes politically convenient to care. In many cases I get the impression that it's not an act, but that politics literally affects how their brain processes their feelings, either creating empathy that normally does not exist, or suppressing it.

The religious can be callous as well, such as saying that God allowed the one or two people to survive when so many didn't. This even happens in school massacres, heedless of how that would affect the parents of the children who died.

This sounds like an NRA joke in bad taste.

If there was a teleprompter present, word would have gotten out by now. If the speakers were not registered as students, that would have been proven from the beginning. You can't count on students of that age to keep anything secret and a teleprompter or an actor would be outed the same day on social media with millions of people reading it. There are other rumours that the Democrats coached the students but we got their opinions before anyone else got to them.

Think I saw that History Channel special on JFK. On the other hand they also have a show that says that Hitler survived WWII and lived the rest of his days in Paraguay, So... 😉
