Not complaining or anything, but there are a few things they never got around to answering:

"From beneath you, it devours." They were saying that like it was going out of style in the first few eps, than they never mentoned it again. What the hell was it supposed to mean?

"In The End, Buffy won't chose you." So was that the First imitatiing Joyce or not!

"Back To The Beginning" That was supposed to be the theme for this season. And other than the school re-openning, I don't get it.

I'll try my best to answer your questions 🙂

With "from beneath you, it devours" I think it was referring to the Hellmouth with all the ubervamps coming out of it, coming up to "devour" the slayers/people/earth.

I'm pretty sure that really was Joyce. It could refer to either in "Empty Spaces" when Dawn kicked Buffy out of the house or when she told Xander to take her away from the battle or in the finale at the end when she's upset that the mall's gone and she's like "I picked the wrong side!" or something.

For "back to the beginning," besides the high school, the finale ends with Buffy possibly being able to lead a normal life now that there are so many Slayers and no more Sunnydale. Remember in the first season she was always wishing she could just have a normal life... and now she can!

I hope my answers are somewhat satisfying! 😉

NO way.. the joyce thing was NOT tied up. Buffy didn't go against dawn like the first said she would. That made no sense and it wasn't pursued any further. You would have thought that dawn would have at least had suspicions about buffy after that.

Hey, I have something I wanna know. What happened to the First? They didn't destroy it. No one can touch it. What waste if you ask me in a way. Also, how could Giles go through the entire run of the series and allow Spike to die a noble death, yet, only after him destroying the hellmouth pop up and say "Well, there is another hellmouth in Cleveland." WHAT IS THAT?!? In my opinion that totally destroys Spikes sacrifice and nullifies its signifcance as that just allows the First (if its still there) to create a new army of Ubervamps, or worse, to use. So why did Giles totally negate mentioning this other hellmouth to Buffy? Does this mean that the earth is littered with hellmouths? Was Giles thinking that since there were now 2 slayers that one would reside and fight in Cleveland? I mean, now they can fight at it and stuff, but, another thought, NO MORE WATCHER'S COUNCIL! Who is gonna teach all these newbie slayers? I mean, Buffy had a Watcher, Kendra had a watcher, and Faith had a watcher. Well, ok, Buffy had a like 3 watchers didn't she? Or maybe just Giles then Wes. Anywho, we now have hundreds of slayers of all ages over the earth, yet only 2 watchers still alive that we know of (does that ex-watcher in Wofram and Hart count? I think Wes just knocked him out.) that know anything of the slayers. Will they teach them? Will Buffy and the newly turned Slayers that live with Buffy teach them (I wouldn't think they would since they are new to this) but, I WANNA KNOW! They have to know what they are doing, Buffy sure needed to know how to kill certain demons, and without Giles's help she prolly wouldn't have lived through the 2nd season. What you guys think of this?

The First was obviously not destroyed - it can't be. However, the reason it could wreak so much havoc was because of a "disturbance in the Slayer line," a.k.a. Buffy still being alive. But now Willow switched the Slayer "rules" so the power is all spread out, so I guess everything's fixed? And The First's big ubervamp army is destroyed anyway (as is Caleb), so it's not so much of a threat right now... without coporeal helpers and all.

So does that mean there is absolutely no ubervamps left at all whatsoever? Besides, couldn't the First gather more enemies to aid in its fight for absolute power over the Slayers?

Maybe there are more ubervamps under the Cleveland Hellmouth...

That would be cool. Oh yea, another thought. How come we never saw the First's true form in the hellmouth? We only saw that form 1)at the end of "Amends" when it was in the form of Jenny Calendar talking to Buffy and I guess it got mad at her and changed into that cool form. 2)When Willow was trying her magic stuff and it went into her and then came out. And I'm sure there was one or two more occasions where we saw, not real sure on that though. Anywho, what was the whole point of showing that big nasty looking demon form if it served no purpose to the story line? I mean, the First took Buffy's form in the hellmouth, what gives?!

I think the First took Buffy's form in the Hellmouth because she wanted to make fun of her, being near death with a mortal wound and all. The First wouldn't have the same effect if it appeared in its "true" form.

As far as the Joyce thing goes, I think it has to be referring to Buffy telling Xander to take her away. Which, btw I think is really lame. I thought Joyce's warnings were going to have some real meaning to them.

I'm a little confused by the Joyce thing as well. I think it was the First though, not Joyce, because otherwise it doesnt make much sense to me

yea... they should have explained the joyce thing more...

always,
kim

I agree with Cassie, it only makes sense if "Joyce" was the
First, trying to throw a wrench into the Scoobs' machine.

As for the presence of other Hellmouths, there was a very oblique reference to a Hellmouth in Cleveland in the ep where Anya first appears (as Anyanka) and grants Cordy's wish (I'm terrible with ep names). Giles is talking on the phone, trying to find out where Buffy is, and he mentions something about her being in Cleveland.
