i've gotta do a major essay for my media a2 level, and i'm gonna do "how representation of women has changed over years in an action movie" and i've decided to go for either "tomb raider" or "charlie's angels" as my contempory piece and i want to do a james bond film for my oldere piece any clues as to which bond film portrays women mostly as sex objects?????? is dr no the best one to do?any help provided would be greatly appreciatted!

Do you really want me to answer that?? All of them, of course. The question should be which movies go from the damsel in distress to those Bond women who could take care of themselves...Let's face it--James Bond is the ultimate male fantasy written by men for men. The only reason women watch is for the handsome actor who plays 007. Of course, it should be interesting to note that M is now a woman, not another "tight-assed Brit."

ps. give me a few hours, and I'll be able to tell you how the woman's role in James Bond has changed over the years...

I haven't seen all the early Bond films, but IMHO the wimpiest damsel in distress was in "To Russia With Love". ("Oh, James! Help me, James! Don't leave me, James!") And, she was an ex-ballerina to boot. (Not that ballet isn't incredibly strenuous and athletic in real life, but the stereotype is painfully dainty.)

You're very helpful, gman992! if i need help, i certainly know where to go! Sorry carlyh, i don't know anything about james bond.

thats fine sexy spike i think gman just about covered it!! thanx a lot these will definetly save me a lot of time and effort ta very much!

He was okay...he just didn't have that dark edge that Connery had. Bronson is trying to get that edge back, but the problem now is that stuff just isn't "cool" in movies today...

nah i've gotta say that james bond doesn't REALLY appeal to me that much it's just there's loads of info on it and would be interesting for my media coursework project!!!
