Literally dozens of Slayers knew about Spike. And who knows how many others? The idea that not one single person would have mentioned him being alive, especially as one of the Slayers had kidnapped Spike and chopped off his hands, is pretty far fetched. Even The Girl in Question shows just how fast Buffy had moved on. Angel sent to a hell dimension? Runs off for months and still doesn't get over him. Spike goes up in smoke? Next! (The comics are irrelevant by this point.)
True. The suits saw Spike as hugely popular so he was never going to die.
Personally, I think Spike playing Wile E to Buffy's Roadrunner would have been absolutely hillarious, and, more importantly, could have been played out for years. SMG & JM could have been one of the great comic duos in TV history, and, given Whedon & Co's committment to jokes, this would have fit the storylines really well.
No, you don't. But there is no way Buffy would not have known he was alive. Unless she thought that the bleached blonde vampire in the leather coat called Spike that dozens of people she knew had seen, or even spoken to, was a completely different Spike. Spike being alive again was not being kept secret. Andrew, dozens of Slayers, Giles, probably Willow, Angel, who knows how many other people all knew he was alive. And even knowing he was alive, she showed no interest in seeing him again.
Do you honestly believe it is more plausible that, at a very minimum, the dozens of Slayers and Andrew who were sent to deal with a rogue Slayer who had kidnapped Spike would have all decided to keep it secret and all managed to do so than the idea that one of the many, many people Buffy knew who knew Spike was alive would have told her, by accident if nothing else?

So, basically, you're saying that none of the Slayers, Andrew, Giles and who knows how many other people never, ever talk to Buffy or anyone Buffy knows? That is much, much less plausible than at least one person will have mentioned it. Buffy would have to be completely isolated from every single person she knows in order not to find out. This isn't a bunch of total strangers that Buffy never interacts with and would never be expected to interact with. This is people she will be dealing with if she has a single thing to do with the Baby Slayers and the rest of the Scoobies.
And they'll talk to each other and I would not trust Andrew to keep a secret about anything. Given his infatuation with Spike, he would blurt it out. Giles might think about keeping it a secret, but he would not even bother trying as too many people know. This isn't one person knowing; this is dozens. Who will talk to others, and those to yet more. This is simply not a plausible secret to keep. Look at how badly everyone failed to keep what Dawn was a secret, and literally only two people knew at one point.
Spike and Buffy remain obsessed with each other with Buffy alternating between love and revulsion but still with Spike constantly on her mind. I would go along with people who say the spell did not get completely reversed, so everything continued, just at a lesser level.
I could almost go along with the spell not being completely reversed. However, I don't remember any time before the final 10 minutes of Chosen where a good argument could be made that Buffy was in love with Spike.
I can see an argument for S6 mentally & emotionally destroyed Buffy wanting sex with Spike. But, even then, Spike was not constantly on Buffy's mind. Once the sex was over, Buffy was out. She was horny not loving or even concerned about Spike.
There is no doubt that Spike was totally obsessed with Buffy. I think that obsession predated Seeing Blue.
True. But he would not have been central to so many arcs & episodes either.
I think we would have gotten the Wile E Coyote version of Spike who tried to catch Buffy but all his elaborate plans got bollixed in the end as hilarity ensued.
Or he just never told Buffy, and nobody told her. We never actually see her in The Girl in Question since they couldn't get SMG and the comics have that not actually her, so we don't actually know that whatever Buffy is actually doing that she regularly inflicts Andrew on herself
Simple fact, I do not see Buffy getting this info second hand. If Spike isn't telling her, or she isn't running into him herself, she doesn't know
Ummmm...... Fly overseas and see the effort family and friends are making today to find their dead. Also look at the effort put out to find and identify the dead in past wars.
The US has spent Billions of dollars identifying its war dead and building them heart-breakingly gorgeous cemeteries overseas or bringing them home.
This is a drive across every culture on earth. There is no way Buffy would not have found out that Spike was alive. Unless. She. Did. Not. Care.
Spike was obsessed with Slayers ever since he heard of them, and not in a good way, but a serial killer one. Buffy being a Slayer was the reason he came to Sinnydale, and the reason he came back, all down to his serial killer levels of obsession.
hoponlilmamaHe literally says it (after Angelus tells him about vampire slayers) "After that, I was obsessed".

I thought he came to heal Dru with the Hellmouth.
Honestly that Slayer story never really works for me. A because between 1 Hes only killed 2 in all that time and only because he got lucky and they wanted to die. 2 Slayers in 110 years doesn't really work for that.
2 Spike got beaten up regularly by Buffy and Angel (and Forrest in YF) so how bad did those Slayers have to be to lose to him. Im watching him attack Angel with a 2by4 in In the Dark and Angel defeating him really easily and contemptous of the idea of Spike having a plan. This is meant to be the great Slayer killer

I've never fully bought the idea the slayers he encountered wanted to die. Xin Rong almost bested him if it wasn't for the explosion outside of the building that distracted her, otherwise Spike would've likely been dust.
You could say he was lucky because they were younger/inexperienced/battled alone.
Wish we'd seen Spike in flashback going after other slayers. We get enough information he liked to learn about them, hunt them down.

Bad guy suddenly being a complete dope. Like in Harsh Light of Day - why would you show Buffy the ring? Why not plan your attack and completely catch her off-guard to defeat her?
That said, if it wasn't for Buffy having friends/loved ones - Spike almost bested her twice (School Hard - saved by Joyce, Halloween ep - took his time going in for the kill allowing time for Buffy to gain her powers back).

Not sure about the Hellmouth thing, but Dru's main issue seemed to be she wasn't eating for reasons.
Flashbacks did show that Spike was obsessed with Slayers after hearing about them, and yes it was luck that he won both fights, and no, I agree with @hoponlilmama, neither showed any desire to die. They fought and lost.
Only two Slayers is still more than the typical vampire. Was Angelus even credited with killing one? And serial killers can pause between kills, especially when the first one nearly gets them killed. The gap between 1 and 2 was much bigger than the gap between two and (intended) three.
As to how bad a Slayer has to be; Spike himself explains why in Fool for Love. They don't have to be bad; they just need one bad day. Everyone has a bad day.
hoponlilmamaI don't believe Angelus killed a Slayer. Seems he avoided them.
He was different and more bearable , I agree. That show fleshed people out to become more authentic including Cordelia. Still not an Angel fan.

I think she did love him but was a completely confused person due to dodgy script writing. Joss wanted to appease Angel fans which is basically what he admitted to.
I think the Slayers were lonely and tired, and knowing Spike, as he was Angelus 's pupil, were victims of his mind games. He probably did the same thing he did in season 2, moved into a town, send his pawns against her, studied her methods, killed people close to her, until trapping her in some kind of gauntlet, then killing her. Which is basically what happened in Wish.
It was shown that Spike at the very least stalked Nikki and messed with her head. Though I think in general Spike would be less likely to prolong something than Angelus; mind games were more a means of weakening an opponent than an end in themself.

Agree. Prolonged mind games and 'playing with your food' isn't something Spike engages in.
I wonder if Nikki was moving about a lot in NYC, or just not out patrolling as much because she had Robin. I think the comics give more of a backstory but am not certain.

Spike's multiple fights with Nikki should be seen more like a challenge, a reminder he was still here and they were still going to fight.
I figure most vampires when they run from a Slayer they are legit running for their lives and don't plan a repeat confrontation, Spike is legit just retreating
hoponlilmamaI guess their confrontations are Spike about learning Nikki's technique/fighting style.
