What multiple fights? All that was shown was Spike taunting Nikki, then he fought and killed her later.

Robin witnessed one of their fights, shown in season 7, and we have the one where he killed her. Two is multiple, and there could have been more
I mean Nikki wasn't even in Something Blue, and we're talking about Angel season 5 in parts of this so, it seemed reasonableBringing in stuff from later seasons is kinda like cheating. It is really outside a discussion of a S4 ep to reference a S7 event.

it's not supposed to be different contnuity
while it's technically true the characters behaved differently on the shows, the fact is there were no breaks in the events. Things always lined up. To me that means you have to hand wave the differences before declaring different continuityI completely agree.
Unfortunately, ATS is / becomes a different continuity. You can see it in rhe story lines and characterizations of Buffy and Angel when they cross shows and different writers write them. I forget the name of the thread, but there is one that goes pretty deep into the differences and how frustrating they are. The fundamental problem is that Whedon thought "continuity" interfered with "creativity" and never pushed it on the writers on either show.
