... in a tutu. Pillock.
I read something on Tumblr yesterday that I never knew before. Apparently, Anthony Head's right hand is slightly deformed - what should be the "little" finger is longer than the other three, and the other three are all the same length. Evidently, he's very self-conscious about this, as he goes to great length in his roles, public appearances and interviews, and photographs, to keep his right hand out of view. You can see it, though, in photos of him playing the guitar.
For some reason I find this oddly appealing. Maybe it's the human element of it, or maybe it's just that I want to give him a big hug and tell him not to be self-conscious because anyone who really matters won't care.
I also find myself now looking for all the ways he's developed over the years to keep his right hand out of view. He does this by using his left hand for absolutely everything (eating, drinking, gesturing, picking things up); hiding his right hand in his pocket, or behind strategically placed props or another part of his body (back, leg, head); and having the shot framed so that his right hand is just out of view (obviously the crew and director are sympathetic to what he wants here).
Did anyone else already know this?
It sure doesn't change how I feel about him. There's an odious Facebook page devoted to discussion of this, where some idiot woman says if it's true she'll find him less attractive. The woman is a moron.
