Although they are together (in s6), Buffy knows she's using Spike and Spike wants something more from Buffy (affection). And even when they aren't together in s7, there's still a connection that they can't deny. It's far from ever being over).
Have you ever hated yourself for staring at the phone? --- (Buffy talking to Spike on the phone in Smashed and hating herself for thinking about wanting to be with him)

The breath before the kiss --- (This line reminds me of Buffy and Spike's kiss in Tabula Rosa, how they have to take that breath before kissing again.)

Have you ever felt this way? --- (These lines reminds me of Chosen, with the fear being in Buffy's eyes, realizing Spike is going to die, before reaching out to grab his hand. Their hands then burst into flames. "The fear before the flames." Gosh, that line was like made for Spuffy
