Songs that remind you of the Buffyverse

Do you ever hear songs that remind you of characters or situations in the Buffyverse?

The other day, I was surfing YouTube. I found a song that totally fits our vamp boys and their very bad paramours. It's called "My Sweet Prince" and it's by a band called Placebo. It made me think of Spike & Dru at around the time when she returns to Sunnydale after being burnt. She tries to tempt Spike back to the dark side, if you'll recall. The song kind of reminded me of how Dru was like a drug to him. Similarly, I got an Angelus & Darla vibe. It reminded me of when Angelus tried to lose his soul by sleeping with Darla.

Buffy's great and all, but there is a certain seductive and familiar appeal to our favorite vamp gals. This song reminded me of that. You'd think it would remind me of some drug story. But, no. It reminded me of Buffy's vampires. lol. Anyway, before Buffy had a hold on our favorite vampire guys, Darla and Dru had them wrapped around their evil little fingers -- and they kept them there for centuries! This song just reminded me of how... neat... that is, in a twisted sort of way.


What songs remind YOU of the Buffyverse?

It always makes me think of Buffy and Angel especially when he leaves

Oh I just thought of a couple more by Alannis Morrisette...Uninvited (It describes Buffy/Spike feakishly well) and You ought to know (Kinda how I imagine Buffy reacting to the Cordy/Angel madness!!)

I agree about those Alannis Morrisette songs. You Ought To Know reminds me more of how Dru might feel about Buffy than how Buffy feels about Cordy, but I can definitely see the connection there. I guess I have Dru on the mind lately. What an underused character! Anyway, I tried looking those songs up on YouTube (I figured somebody had already made videos to that effect), but I didn't come up with much. I found a "Chosen" video to Uninvited and a Spuffy dailies outtakes video came up for You Ought To Know, even though it had nothing to do with the song.

I don't recommend the outtakes video. The outtakes started funny, but then I felt uncomfortable. At first, they did the "You came back wrong" scene and Sarah gets this sort of petulant "duh" look on her face and says, "No I didn't!" Then they did the handcuffs scene and she said something funny about rug burn. lol. And then they did some scenes that were interrupted with laughter. But, after that, the video maker started critiquing the performances for evidence of those two being more into it than they should. I felt bad for the actors. Sex scenes must be really embarrassing to film -- especially when the outtakes from the dailies get splashed all over youtube! So. Glad. I'm. Not. An. Actor.
 
A not so good memory that a song brings out is the one where Tara is shot. I the song is shot through the heart-by Bon jovi

There used to be a really could Buffy/angel/cordy video on youtube, hey must have taken it down. If I had the right softwear I'd make my own!
 
Wild horses. But it was on Buffy so...but here is the weird thing. I have this hand cream that reminds me of Buffy. The reason is I used it a whole heck of a lot when I was buying merch off the net. I bought stuff for weeks in a row and right at my side was this hand cream. So now when I use it the smell always makes me go back to Buffy.

Hand cream? That's different! lol.

And I get what you're saying about wild horses. It reminds me of Buffy and Angel cuteness. I mean, despite the fact that I am generally down on high school love, I do like Buffy and Angel cuteness. I just don't want a reprise of the Buffy and Angel cuteness.

Nah - Buffy and Angel were cute with their whole fairy tale, everlasting sort of love thing. I liked it. I liked it more from Buffy's POV than from Angel's. Romance is fun.

I just think that sort of Disney fairy tale or Romeo and Juliet romance is overrated. That's the kind of thing that only makes sense when you're a kid and you're all overwhelmed with emotions and hormones. When you grow up, I think you need something that is simultaneously more complex and more stable -- and someone who won't lose his soul and go all evil if you make him too happy.


Speaking of which, I have a question about the Sanshu. If Angel is redeemed and turned human, does that happiness clause still apply? We know from that little boy that a human can be born without a soul. So a human can exist without a soul. So if Angel gets the Sanshu, does human Angel have to be all broody, too?

I don't think he will give up the brooding no matter what, but to answer the question I think his soul will be his. The curse was applied to the vampire not the man. The spell specifically says it is for soemthing 'not dead nor not of the living'. Human Angel will be very much alive, he won't be able to lose his soul. Anyway didn't IWRY clear that up! he was chalk full of happiness and his sould stayed all glued!

You're right. I forgot about that. Heck, if human Angel was gonna lose it, he should have done so when he attacked the fridge. lol.
I found another song.

This is called "Glow." It's a very pretty song by Rie Sinclair. Probably because of the "glowing" thing, it reminds me of Spike at the end of Buffy, especially when he refuses her offer of love right before he, umm, glows to death. lol.

It was deleted off You Tube. Although, I was able to download it from the creator's blog. I still have it saved on my computer. I just wish I would have saved the blog to my favorites cuz it had a lot of great videos. And the person's favorite characters were Cordelia and Spike just like me. LOL
 
Tourniquet by evanescence reminds me of Illyria. I saw a youtube vid once. Saved it on my cputer I loved it so much.

And about the handcream that reminds me of Buffy, vicks vapor rub reminds me of the movie Speed. I was sick when I watched that movie 100 times in a row when it came to vhs. I had vicks under my nose, lol.
 
Oh that reminds me! My Immortal by Evanescence...it is pretty much written for Bangel!
there was a FANTASTIC video for it on youtube but it was taken down...I'm sure there are about a million more but this one was just brilliant!
