Do you agree with the four episodes chosen for this dvd, if not which episodes would you have chosen?
 
These are good choices, though I feel like LMPTM isn't very Giles-centric. I chose "New Man" from the list, though it's maybe not very important to his character development.

Two that come to mind are Halloween and Helpless, as, while also not Giles-centric, both are formative for his character, I think. Halloween introduces Ethan Rayne and thereby Giles's past. Helpless leads Giles to a lot of self-reflection of where his loyalties truly lie, with the Watchers' Council or with his Slayer herself.

Another one might be Band Candy, because it shows us a very different side of Giles. There are probably better ones, but scenes more than episodes are what come to mind for me with Giles.

I agree with this and was trying to think of a non Ethan episode to replace it with, but the majority of Giles centric ones are also Ethan based. I like your idea of Helpless, I think perhaps The Puppet Show or Buffy vs Dracula?
