nothing like some TRUTH TELLING from Angelus to get the party started. Especially his thoughts on the Wes/Fred/Gunn triangle.

Nearly choked on my drink when he called them Othello and Desdemona. The kiss between Fred and Wes was hot, the ensuing brawl with Gunn long overdue.

But way too short.

I like that the vampire's evil plan in this episode is basically just......telling the truth.

Except for he makes some kind of comment about Cordy's good looks which just seemed odd because she doesn't look particularly good in that episode.

The actress looked pregnant to me,so I asked my sister about it.

She told me Carpenter was while filming the 4th season.

It's not only that though. Her hair gets so terrible from about mid season three onward. Really makes her look less attractive than she is.

The mark of a truly great and diabolical villain is that he can accomplish all of his evil schemes without lying. He simply presents the truth from a slightly different perspective. It's a device that both they and successful politicians have had to perfect in order to survive.

Cordy's hair looked it's best short in the episode where she and Wes mocked Buffy/Angel.

I believe it was "Fredless" from the 3rd season.

I love this arc but IMHO David kinda overplayed Angelus cause there really wasn't any of the dark evil Angelus we knew but instead we got a joke cracking vampire but I still love it.

^yeah he was too jokey in Soulless but any Angelus eppy is good.
Is this the one when Cordy says she'd be better than a new mustang? Ok Cordy! Lmao at Angel telling Wes 'you think your cool cos you got a haircut and new coat' ha ha

The Fred/Gunn/Wes thing was just perfect and so over due.
Also, Angelus...do i need to say more. Anyone who wasn't happy to see that evil man is just crazy. (No offence to anyone who didn't like it)

Ah I love Angelus but he didnt seem that evil the second time round. Although i may go watch it/him again just to check!! Hehe

I love everything he said, how he tore them all apart and said what everyone's bee thinking (including the audience). Plus SO funny:

"Yeah lets talk about Cordelia now there's a rack to write home about, to bad about the personality though .. yap yap yap yap"

"Angel ... I love you so much ... but you ate babies! .... chicks"

"You've bought some new clothes, joined a gym ... you're still the same loser none of the other kids wanted to sit with at lunch"

"Doesn't it freak you out that she used to change your diapers? I mean when you think about it ... the first woman you boned was the closest thing you had to a mother. Hmm, boned your mom and tried to kill your dad ... it should be a play"

Great writing in that episode but i think the director was really weak. Sean Astin was a poor choice.

Oooohhh!!!! Comparing Angelus to a politician! - Way wicked! 😀

those are Angelus's best quotes from that episode.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Hmmm . . . granted, I believe that "Awakened" was one of the best written episodes that season. However, Angelus was an irritating bore to me. I really couldn't stand his "Rat Pack" lingo and humor. I found it so annoying.

Joke cracking, yes. Not dark and evil... hm, I don't know. I suppose not, but what else could he accomplish behind bars? Given the circumstances, I thought he was about as evil as he could be. It's much better cracking jokes than doing the typical kicking and screaming. When he got out of the cage though, he was pretty bad. Still kind of a smartass, but that's about how he was during Buffy season 2.

Anyway, I love it, too. Evil though season 4 got a liiittle too heavy for me, I loved sadistic Angellus.

Yeah what was up with Sean Astin? I don't particularly remember how good/bad the directing was, but was surprised to see his name on the credits.

Amazing sarcastic, sadistic Angelus!the way he expresses things...no one can get away from him!!!He is going deep down in your soul and reveals everything you don't wanna hear...I have heard David improvises a lot when he plays Angelus!I love it!
