Soulmates

No, not necessarily....
Actually, if you believe in God, then you probably believe that when you die, you either go to heaven or hell, and since there's no "you get to relive your life in hopes of finding God in that one", then you shouldn't believe in reincarnation. Did that make sense?

I believe in God but no I don't believe you automatically go to heaven or hell.

Even before I was open to the concept of reincarnation I never believed that, I always believed that you went to the spirit world until judgement day came.

There are literally hundreds of Christian denominations which all vary in their teachings, ya know. 🙂

Actually, there is a belief system that you are placed on this earth at one point, you live and die in cycles for as long as it takes for you to be open and accepting of what life is about, then when you die that time, you are allowed into 'Heaven'.

There is another that ALL life is allowed into heaven upon death, no matter what they have done, as this world is the hardest and when you 'pass' it, you are strong enough for eternal life.

Totally with you on the first point!
You know, I read somewhere that sometimes even the people we REALLY HATE can be soulmates...I don't remember why...just thought I'd throw that in there...I think that Bored of the Dead's soulmate is Amy Lee...you can see it in her eyes... 😉

As you've all seemed to manage to drag this thread back on topic, I'm putting the axe away...I trust it will stay that way.

"Soulmates" is a ridiculous concept that has caused more breakups, heartache and misunderstandings than I care to think about. People "looking for that one person" are stupidly ignoring multiple perfectly good, decent mates (not at the same time, you guys, stop that...😉) while searching in vain for an ideal that doesn't exist. Or they leave a perfectly good marriage/relationship because "he/she just isn't the one", or "it wouldn't be this much work if we were soulmates..." what a buncha bull. Mrs. D isn't my "soulmate"...she's a patient, kind woman who accepts me and all my peculiarities, and loves me despite them...of course, she's perfect, and has absolutely no peculiarities at all 😀...and we work on our relationship every day. It's not always easy, but even when things get rough, we don't go looking for something else, some phantom, who will be "perfect".

No one is pefect, I know I come close but no cigar. I still maintain that your soulmate is not necessarily your 'partner'
Yeah but I think a lot of the people that leave someone because they are not "the one" just say that because it's like a saying. Usually a card pulled when something happens in the relationship that can't be rectified in the others eyes. Not because they mean "soulmates". Anyway, totally valid point and I think that in many cases you're right. Just had to sneak that in there.

Yeah, some people will use any excuse to get out...
Honestly... ok as much as i'd love to believe in soulmates i dont really think there is....

I believe in being in love... and i believe in love... i dont believe in true love....

I'd love to believe in it but really i dont think it exsists... and if it does not many people will ever experence it.... So i think being IN love is the closest we can get....

Soulmates, I use to say I was Atheist, but as I got older, and had children, I have started saying I am agnostic, figure this way if there is a God of some sort, I am not saying you dont exsist, I just am not sure, this way my chances are better if there is an afterlife that I will be able to spend it with my family... anyway back on topic Soulmates... It's a posibility, lol...

Is it reincarnation?

Not quite reincarnation. In that, you have forever to die then live again.

With this one I posed, when a being is evolved enough mentally, spiritually awoken then they can go onto the next stage of existence, what people refer to as 'Heaven'.
This can take one life cycle or a million, its dependant on the state you, as human, are.

This is quite similar to my own belief, though I have a feeling yours is plucked from the depths of your ass whereas mines is based on observable data and deductive reasoning.

It goes like this. Rabbits, as we all know, are the chosen people. God blessed them with big feet, fluffy ears, and an insatiable appetite for humping. I know what you're thinking, what do rabbits have to do with us lowly peeps? Well, carrots. Got it? Good, we can move on.

So, how do we ascend from this life into the next stage. Its all about screwing. Only in this life you do it figuratively. The more people you screw over, the higher your stock rises with God. Who by the way looks nothing like man. Yes he has floppy ears. So when you screw over so many people, you cease to breath. Ascend to the next stage, where its all about screwing, only literally. The fastest on the draw then leave this mortal realm and reside with God. Where we will play hopscotch for all time.

See, I bet you feel a bit foolish with your idea now huh.

Carrots are the key.

I dont believe that the word soulmate means that you have found the "perfect mate". Perfectionism is highly over rated. I feel that a soulmate is someone who compliments the relationship and constantly challenges you to be a better person. There will be disagreements, challenges and times that you just dont like them that much. Have I found my soulmate? Yes, he is the love of my life and I cant imagine a day without him. He accepts me for who I am and doesnt try to change me, he is my opposite. Sounds dumb? Dont care.. We have our problems that we work out, but he makes me laugh everyday and has taught me to enjoy life.
