Speculation on How to Stop the First Evil...

No inside information, but a bit of inspiration hit me last night. Everything/everyone in the Buffyverse is saying to the Scooby Gang "You can't kill/stop/fight (The First) Evil."

I think the operative word here is "YOU". This may not be Buffy's fight at all. She is proven poorly equipped for such a direct fight, but she IS an agent of balance... of order...

...perhaps of the "FIRST GOOD"?!!

I believe the answer may be finding a way to access "FG", and get HER/HIM/IT into this fight. We've seen demons for seven seasons now, so how about finishing up with the help of some kick-ass, Christopher Walken/Prophecy-looking angels (no DB pun intended)?

Buffy's struggles and victories have to have been noticed from on high, and that's where I (hope to) see this story arc taking us.

Your two cents? Post away!

Nah! ... the First can't be stopped, not even by the First Good, and vice versa, the First Evil can't stop the First Good either. But a full-scale war between the forces of good and evil sounds very interesting and in the long run that would be a tie, a balance after all!

The FE just IS like many other forces, it cant be stopped because it has no corporeal form nor does it have a source. Perhaps the only way to stop it is to let Buffy die so the FE cannot move on with its plans to wipe out the entire line of slayers?

I think FE is taking advantage of imbalance here. I think this happened when Faith went to the dark side. (Hey... I'm already in the Spoiler forum, so I'm speaking freely! 😉

FE could be stopped by the FG. Not defeated or killed mind you, but it's plans could be thwarted so it retreats to it's previous lower-profile existance.

As another non-corporeal, FG would have some available method of combat... I just have no idea what that might be. If I were to guess, I'd say they use avatars. Buffy would get some kind of 'booster shot' from FG, and FE would have on of it's agents fight her... winner retreats. I think FE would go for it, though the 1st round (via the UberVamp) clearly went to Buffy.

But hey... I'm just spit-balling here.

That sounds too clichée and Joss aint the one to go for Clichées

I don't know if there will be an entity such as the First Good, but I like the idea of balance being restored in someway different than Buffy's life being sacraficed, cuz that's been done. I guess the question is what tipped the balance and what will tip it back.

From Showtime we learned that the Scoobies raising Buffy tilted the balence, so maybe the Scoobies have to retilt the balance. Somehow, I think that Willow will be pivotal in restoring the balence. I don't know how, I don't think it will take a death, but what else could restore the balance?

Hmmm...

Maybe they have to resurrect something bad to restore the balance, because bringing Buffy back, tipped the balance over to the good side, didn't it??? so now they have to put it a little more to the evil side!

What if they not only ressurect the Master, but also Dru, the Mayor, Adam, Glory and Warren ... or maybe let Buffy squar off against herself!

OK, Razzy... how do you think think this will resolve?

Maybe he repeats S5 and Buffy dives into the hellmouth and it closes? Or something? I dunno, give me an hour or so when I aint busy with my own projects and ill figure out the entire season finale for yah 😉

But Im also brought back to the thought that the FE said "From beneath you, it devours".
We have seen the true shape of FE in Amends and when Willow used make and it surged through her.

So maybe the FE will take corporeal form and face off against Buffy and the gang like they never faced off before and Buffy will in the end win/loose dependin on how you look at it and die but the imbalance is restored and the FE is forced to retreat.

Or since FE did mention it needed Spike later, maybe it will possess Spike and in the end Buffy will be forced to dust Spike, repeat 2x22 when she killed Angel, just after he had become good and gotten a soul.

Either way there are many possabilities 😛

Maybe we should dissect that quote by Joyce to Dawn in "Conversations with Dead People": "Buffy won't choose you. In the end, she'll be against you." I know that it was said that it was the First Evil. But I don't know. Has it been confirmed that the First Evil can take on many forms at the same time in different places?

slay_errr: It has not been confirmed! I personally think it can't!

Zing Halliwell: I think she's "just" a key, like that isn't enough?

I have a small theory that I am still working out in my brain, so input is gladly needed.

Thinking back to season 3........the spisode in which everyone finds out Angel is still alive and Buffy and Faith square off. It seems to me that was the first brake in the balance because right after that episode we are introduced to the First.

So maybe the balance being off has to do with Faith turning bad, and not as much with Buffy being resurected.

What bothers me is the explanation of why the First is here now. He came before, and why? I know to get Angel to kill Buffy, but how does that fit in?

Does my rambling make any sense???

To Leeloohb:

I agree with your suspicion that Faith is really the reason for the whole "First Evil". The FE needs a champion to fight Buffy. My own guess is either Faith or Angel(us) will ultimately take the job.

I think we're looking at a series-ending tie-in between BtVS and Angel.... now it's gonna get good.

I heard that The First Good was going to be brought into it to fight The First Evil, and The First Good was going to be God. I dont believe this at all, this doesnt seem like a Joss thing to do. Anyway, this is just my theory, but i think that they might need the help of The First Slayer, i hope they do becuase she was cool.🙂

I'm not sure about Faith, but I think it was also planning on using Spike.

And the First Good doesn't seem like a Joss thing indeed, they never really did much religious stuff, they said they don't want to burn their hands on it.
