Speculation on How to Stop S7 Big Bad ...

Huh?!

OK, gotta call you on this one... so why is "The First Evil" NOT religous, but "The First Good" is?

Not tryin' to go metaphysical on you, but God does not necessarily fit the worldly "Good-only" definition.... He/She is just to BIG for that.

My theory To me God in the Buffyverse would be more like the Ward Cleaver to The First Evil (The Beav) and The First Good (Wally).... kind of detached but he gives them both a good home! 😉

the word God, implies that you're talking about the Christian god, and they said they want to keep their hands of of those things, so they won't alienate any viewers.

Keeping it vague like the First Evil, the First Good and the Powers that Be is a good option!

Nope... I'm not referring to the Christian God at all, just the English name. Of course you can also call "God" by the names Allah, Jehovah, or Dios. These all refer to essentially the same Deity... the different names are representative of religions and language. The name "God" itself is not exclusive to Christianity.

I'm sticking with my earlier "Leave to Beaver" analogy of this subject... but again I digress 😉...

Allycat, are you now on-board that there could be a manifestation called "First Good" without having it be "God"? After all, no one on the show is saying that "FE" has to be Satan. Here's why I ask...

Earlier in the postings you said...
"And the First Good doesn't seem like a Joss thing indeed, they never really did much religious stuff, they said they don't want to burn their hands on it."

Now in this most recent post you offered...
"Keeping it vague like the First Evil, the First Good and the Powers that Be is a good option!"

After all, "It's not about Good or Evil... it's about POWER!"

I believe this Buffy's climax (poor choice of words, that) is all about.

and The First Good was going to be God

If you put it that way, the First good doesn't seem like a Joss thing!

Otherwise, it just wouldn't leave much options open for a bigger and badder big bad than this season! Because really, they get thougher everytime!

Angelus could beat the Master
Faith could beat Angel (counting out the Mayor, because of Adams presumable lack of knowledge on explosives)
Adam could beat Faith
Glory could beat Adam
Darth Rosenberg could beat Glory

ok, we might dissagree on that last one, but think about the psychological impact Darth Rosenberg had.

OK - it looks like your response wasn't directly to my "FG vs FE" posts. The one ref'd above came from "The Male Slayer". I do try to stay grounded (?!) in the rules of Joss' Buffyverse in my rants.

Since the horse is still breathing, you said it's unlikely we'd see a force so powerful that you couldn't have an option for anything tougher in the next round. But this IS the last season of BtVS... somethin' to think about.

OMG!... we're starting to sound like two losers in a comics store arguing over whether Superman could beat The Flash in a footrace!!! I have so got to go out clubbing tonight!

...oh, and I didn't mean "OMG" in a Christian way 😉

Maybe we should hark back to S3 ep "Amends". Buffy told Angel that even if it was the First who did bring him back, that meant that the First needed him and that he could hurt it. Perhaps Angel will be the only one able to kick some evil chalky-tasting ass.

way to go! Perhaps this is what we should be focusing on... Angel is the only one to defeat the first. See, I think that the First wants Angel to kill Buffy (obviously,, from "Amends"). But maybe Angel will refuse to and sacrifice himself for Buffy and the First will go away because it didn't get it's way.

just a thought.

Just a weird thought, but remember when the first took on Buffy's form to torture Spike? Isn't it odd that The First hasn't taken Buffy's form for a while? Wouldn't it be an extreme Joss like twist if at one point in time he replaces real Buffy with First Buffy? As a way to defeat the First (short of THWACKage), the obvious answer is simply for Buffy to die; however, this is absolutely too predictable, though Dawn dying would achieve exactly the same thing, through the "created from me" principle established in season five and go along with Joyce's line in Convos with dead people. Still, too predictable. If he does kill buff, I can totally see Joss doing something that screws with our minds, such as going back to Buffy season one and changing it so that Buffy does die when she faces the master, proving that one prophesy to be right all along. that way, in his spin off, he could totally alter the reality of the Faith and scooby gangs worlds. Just a thought.

well, this is what i read in a reliable aritcle
Willow finds a spell that can make the First into solid form, im not saying they kill him but they have a go at killing him in his solid form

This new "Caleb" character holds promise...

see Allycat's separate post on the introduction of this new character...

I think I may have found someone potentially very important in dealing with FE, and (as he's going to be a "fallen preacher") it fits my theory of a FG element being introduced for the finale.

oooh... this is gonna be fun!!
