Does anyone on here influence your speech in real life?
For example, I found myself saying yesterday 'hella' in like every sentance, thanks to Gasm! 😉

I've found myself saying 'hella' or 'hella cool', only in my head though... I try not to admit it, but in the spirit of the thread.😀

I think there's tons of people on here who say 'hon' a lot, mainly people on the staff, and now I'm starting to.🙂

See Gasm! Look how much of an influence you are! lol!

lol...i'm flattered yalll...

falkin...hella...lol...that pretty much somes me up....

yall need to remember that its not just a mode of speech...not just a couple of explicative words...its a way you think...a state a mind...

to be able to pull of the speech like me...you gotta have ultra confidence in yourself...and you gotta be funny and positive...no one likes a guy who swears and pisses people off...but if you can joke around and make clever observations with your imagination with an edge...it'll be hella cool...

remember...do not imitate me...just be yourself...with a slight edge....cause whats better than being yourself...nothing better than your whole self...void of divisions and second-guessing....and encompassing totality in your being....un1ty within you is the illest...

i'm so much happier being me...the real me...completely confidant in everything i do...lol...yall should of met me bout 4 years ago...i was so gay...always thought bout what people thought of me...divided and never sure of myself...people call me arrogant now...but no one does anything great without having faith in themselves...

just be hella falkin cool....

haha no i havn't really change the way i talk because of the boards, maybe i need to come on more...

I have this theory - Soulgasm is really Cartman. Eric was the first one I heard use "hella" and "gay" in that unique way. How many other animated characters contribute to this board? We should be told!🙂

I've used hella occasionally in posts, but if I ever use it in real life i'll scream. No offence but that whole type of thing is not the way I talk....would sound weird if I say it.

The person thats had the biggest effect on my vocab is Buffy Summers, a lot of the words she uses have found their way into mine, so i'm a Scot that speaks American 😉

Luckily, haven't yet used it in real life, I think that just like Faith here, I'd go mad if I did.

It's a state of mind, but not the one I want, I'll just be my very self, with my own way of talking, thank you very much.

And offcourse there is this thing where I don't really learn things by reading them, but by watching or hearing, so this isn't the place for me to improve my speech anyway.

On a whole other note: I do use five by five, or for short just five.

I keep saying lol in real life. And not Laugh out Loud, I just say to my friends when they make me laugh L-O-L, and its getting on my nerves!

Hella, yall, falkin....all of these have entered my mode of speech...

But other than that, I talk like a scooby.

How do you say falkin? Maybe I can't do it, with my posh Brit accent...although I do say y'all.

With regards to the boards I don't think i've picked up much, besides pet names, and some not so nice pet names 😛 At work I tend to influence other people; working in a supermarket, with a rather large vocab, having been a grammar school brat, studied english lit and language and now doing law....I tend to teach people "posh" words 😀

Willow...I don't know how I say it, hon, but my hubby tried and he sounded like an idiot...it must only work for certain people 🙂

I do that all the time, if we are discussing something to do with law or if it comes up I start using all these words and get the open mouthed stares. As we call them different things from the 'laymans'. Couldn't find another word for them. But there is lawyer speak then there is another term for the same thing.
