The Key
Yesterday, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio were in my city, Quebec City, to shoot scenes (which included the final one) of their upcoming movie Catch Me If You Can.
The movie is set in France but it is much closer to come here than to go to France to get that provincial look.
During the past week, the movie crew transformed one of Old Quebec's street so it has a feeling of around the mid of the 20th Century.
Yesterday, they shot old car scenes in a town called Tewksbury. From 6 pm to 2 am, last night, they shot the final scene, where Hanks arrests DiCaprio, in the transformed street. The scene happens at Christmas time and DiCaprio comes out of a church and Hanks, who plays a FBI agent arrests him.
I had the opportunity to see the set. Unfortunately, the set during the shooting was so closed to ppl and even the press, that I couldn't see a thing.
An extra was interviewed this morning, and he reported that the atmosphere on the set was really casual. That Hanks made jokes and that DiCaprio shook hands with his fans amongst the extras. He also said that they reshot the same scene with a lot of changes each time. He said that just for the ending, they did the going out of the church in 10 different ways!
