Spike-a loser?

I've come to this conclusion, that Spike is somewhat of a loser, before AND after he becomes a vampire. He almost never gets the girl (Cecily, Buffy, Dru-who's been stoled by Angel throughout their history...), he gets humilated by everyone (scoobies, Buffy, Cecily, Angel/Angelus....), He almost always doesn't get what he wants, gets chipped, his vampire gang is turning aganist him and he becomes a loner, nobody really wants him around.... And I'm sure there are many other examples. I just feel sorry for him, he's been through so much pain from the beginning even when he was human. Does anybody else feel the same?

Yep. I do. He's a loser and that's why he's so cool. Because despite being a loser, he acts like the coolest badass guy ever. Although, I like to not think of it as him being a loser and more of the "outcast of the outcasts." As James himself has said, "Buffy is about the outcasts... the characters are outcasts... and Spike is outcasted by them. The show is for the outcasts and that's what makes Spike such a great character. They relate to him." (that's paraphrasing, I'm too lazy to go find the actual quote)

Didn't know he said that! Smarty. And I agree with that statement. Because until today I only hear about him being "Slayer of the Slayers". Never thought of him as the outcast of outcasts.

Yeah, it was actually really funny when I heard him say that because that's exactly how my friend and I describe ourselves in middle school. We stuck together because we were the outcasts of the outcasts. I had already thought that about Spike and then I was watching a youtube video of some convention and James said it and I was like "AHHHH! He used my terminology!" haha

I have never heard of him being the "Slayer of the Slayers." Is he really the "Slayer of the Slayers?" I mean is 2 really that much?

People refer him as that. Maybe he was the only vampire ever who killed more than 1.... Or maybe because that was his unlife goal. He said that in "Fool For Love", he was so into killing Slayers. That's why Dru left him. He was totaly obssessed, not just for Buffy, but slayers in general.

I just feel so sorry for him. Trying to be evil, but is so soft and caring on the inside that it hurt him. His bad boy image is only a smokescreen.

I agree that he's a loser (Up until Chosen, anyway). But, unlike many, I dislike him rather than like him on account of that.

Spike is NOT a loser. Rawr.

I think I have a thing for losers. My boyfriend, friend and I went thrift store shopping and both of the guys got bow ties and blazers and look completely dorky. The friend had a date and he said he was going to change. I tried to convince him to stay like that because it was awesome and he asked me if I would date my boyfriend if I didn't know him and he showed up for a date like that. Heck yes I would! I swear, they both looked like Spike in Tabula Rasa! It was amazing. Unfortunately he did change because not everyone thinks that is adorable.

ANYWAY! Spike is so amazing, and I think the "Outcast of the outcasts" is a perfect way of describing him.

I love him, loser or not. But mostly when he's a loser.

He's really cute when he's dorky... 😀

He is such a cutie when he is dorky. when he was reading that poem I laughed but he was so darn cute.
Spike is so totally a loser. It doesn't matter what he looks like out the outside, he will always be little William--the outcast. He gets taunted by everybody, never gets the girl and just has overall bad luck but all the while he's doing it in a very badass way. He compensates for his bad luck by being evil and killing and all of that and then he looses his ability to be evil and has to start again. And he's so adorable whilst doing all of that.

Who couldn't love my Spikey?
