Spike after the fall issue 1

ok so i just read the issue and for the most part i liked it.
As with all first issues it set allot of ground work that need to be set for the other issues. I also like how spike was dealing with fred become illyria and vis versa.

I was a bit worried about spike being a main character however he pulled it off pretty well.

My prayers were answered and those hot slayer looking deamon girls showed up at the end.

I thought on a whole the issue was good but i still like angel after the fall better

what do you guys think?

I haven't read this issue yet, but in browsing I have to say Urru did a good job (something I never thought I'd say about him on an Angel property).
 
I loved it. But then that was no surprise; It would have had to have completely sucked for me to do anything other than love it. I was lucky enough to get the Sharp Bros cover with Spike riding the motorcycle - very nice.

The story is good - i'm intreagued as to where it is going. Spike's 'voice' is spot on too. I love how they've got the compination of snark and compassion pretty well perfect. So nice to see Spike's first rescue was not a hot chick but rather a little fat kid. Can't wait for Spike to meet Connor.
 
I thought this first issue was enjoyable. It was interesting, but not quite as interesting as Angel. I'm not quite as curious about the SAtF plot as I was about the AAtF plot. I'm going to guess the Big Bad is the wiccan who turned Maria into Spider.
 
No way, THIS is what Angel ATF should be like.

Waaaay better written the the Angel series. I felt like I was reading a Spike-centric episode of the TV series.

I wonder it when this four issues are over if we're gonna get a "Connor: After The Fall," followed by an "Illyria: After The Fall," then maybe "Willie The Bartender: After The Fall?" I'm not complaining, mind you. I think it's a great way to basically extend what was planned to be a relatively short series. Just curious.

Well, we're basically already seeing Illyria: After the Fall. But Connor: After the Fall, where he meets and teams up with Nina and Gwen could work.
