Spike and Buffy reunite

[Urgent Power]

I'm sure all the Spuffies have played that scene in their heads at least once. The moment where Buffy and Spike reunite and Buffy finds out that Spike is alive and well. As for myself, I have no doubt that this will happen one day. So even if you're not a Spuffy, I guess you can answer too: How will it happen? How do you imagine the scene will go? What will be Buffy's reaction and what will happen afterwards?

(And I'm sure you've read fanfics on this!)

I think she'd be really pissed that he didn't tell her, and it could be in a really difficult situation. Such as he's in battle and she finds out that he's alive when they cross swords or whatever, or just him popping up at her door all nervous about her reaction OR her finding out through some of the other Slayers or Andrew slipping it, making her pissed as hell and making her storm up to him. Either way I see liplocking or lots of angst.

I've read SO many fics that tackle this moment. And yeah basically I think Buffy would be initially PISSED that he didn't come to her right away, pissed mixed with hurt and I'd imagine her instincts would translate that into a reactional punch to the nose, followed by one of those looks of awe that SMG can do so well and then a jump right into his arms with a liplock SO HOT that it would rival the initial smooch from Smashed... I picture all this going down with no words at all spoken and Spike nervous as all hell. Then after their kiss finally breaks and they stare into eachothers eyes for what seems like eternity, Buffy would say something like, "How could you not believe I love you you big dummy?!" Then Spike would look at HER in awe (cause he does that brilliantly too), she'd just kinda shake her head and say, "I love you Spike." More awe from Spike and a head tilt, "say it again." Buffy: "I. Love. You." Spike: "Bloody hell. I love you so much Buffy." And loads more kissing and well, you know 😉 And then after the "you know" they'd have a long conversation where they hash everything out, unload all their feelings and fears and decide all this time apart was ALL the time apart they needed for a life time :biggrin:

And what peeves me is that the sole reason we haven't gotten any reunion btw the two of them yet is because Spike was taken to Angel and now his character is owned by the Angel people (since the comics are by two diff companies or whatever) eventhough he is so much more a Buffy character than an Angel character! Grrrr!!!!

For a long time I theorised that she already knew that he was alive - I just couldn't believe that he would go throught the entire season 5 of Angel without talking to her - but now it's looking increasinlgy like she still doesn't know so I agree that the reunion would be a mixture of extreme surprise, shock, disbelief, pleasure, happiness, relief, kissing and maybe a punch due to her being a smidge pissed off that it's taken this long for him to tell her!. Whatever happens - I really, really just want it to happen soon.

Seriously... I want and know they'll meet again. I have no idea why, but probaly in some fight against evil, and when it's over they'll realize that they were fighting side by side. Spike will be quiet and just stare at her, astonished, and surprised.
Buffy will not believe her own eyes.

"You...."
She whispered. The blood on her jacket didn't matter anymore. Her body aching for a break didn't matter. All that mattered was the ice blue eyes meeting hers. Slowly she stepped forward, not sure if she was dreaming or dieing.
"You're not real..." She said out loud.
The ice blue eyes flickered, and he raised a brow.
"You can't be real. You died... I saw you, and you died!" She cried out, with tears running down her face.
Buffy launched forward, and planted at fist on his chest. It wasn't real. It never was real.
"BLOODY HELL! That hurts!" He exclaimed.
Buffy froze, and slowly looked up. He was real. He felt real. His hands grabbed her arms, and he held her gaze for a few seconds. Then the crooked, boy like smile showed on his face, and he shook his head slowly.
"Buffy..."
Hearing him saying her name, made her want to faint. He WAS real.


Nah I dunno.. But's gonna beat everything Bangel's ever done!

I think the writers did it to show that this Spike didn't just do things for love (i.e. Drusilla and Buffy), but because he was his own person and was able to live without Buffy, even if it pained him to do so. He's out helping people now, and that makes him more of a Champion than before.

You know, they're going to have to meet sooner or later. And just because you're a Bangel doesn't mean you can't watch. As a Spuffy, watching Bangel ought to make me sick (oh, and at times it does), but I'm able to watch everything since it's all part of who she is, as are Puffy and Brilley.

I'm in the awkwardness camp. In fact, I think Spike is too. I think if he has a choice, he's never going to go find her because even though he's "grown up" a lot and acts like a champion, he's still got that little bit of self-centered left in him. I don't know if he can bear to get through the reunion voluntarily and hash, or grovel, or jump off a cliff to get to the good stuff.

Therefore, I think it's gonna happen during a massive beat-back-the-evil battle, and I think Angel's gonna be in the room when it does. Ooh, major SUCK!

Oh, plus, Buffy can't keep a dang secret to save her life! Parker in Season 4, being in heaven instead of hell before she was brought back and how that's exposed in Season 6,

in Season 8... when and if she and Spike reunite, they may as well pass out the popcorn to the Scoobies and thus even more awkwardness ensues. I am DREADING this reunion, as much of a Spuffy fan as I am!

If done properly, I really don't think that there will be either the, "Oh, well, I see that you finally made it back. Good for you..." scene that the Bangels imagine, or the "S...Sp...Spike? Oh, my god, Spike, it's you, it's really you, Oh, god I love you, I love you, don't ever leave me again, I'll never love anyone else...Kiss me, you fool..." that we Spuffies like to envision. Instead, there will be a sort of shock and confusion, "SPIKE! You're ALIVE!!!" and then some big bad interrupts the whole scene. By the time said BB is sorted out, the shock is over only to be replaced by a sort of uncomfortable "So, you and this Japanese chick, Satsu, huh...?" and "So, you and this blue chick, Illyria, huh...?" while Angel peeps around a corner somewhere.

After the initial shock, no great drama, no declarations of undying love, just pure Joss sadism and a total refusal to finally settle the whole thing. (Okay, maybe Angel and Xander locked in a passionate embrace behind that corner, but, beyond that, still nothing.)

I 100% agree with this, knowing the way Joss likes to write and his "Sadism" it would probably be something like the situation you wrote.

Joss is probably going to make it super awkward, but I always envision a battle where they accidentally meet, because Spike's matured so much and become this Champion and made a transition where although he would like very much to have Buffy with him, he feels that he would be both a burden to her and that he also no longer needs her to be what he is. Which makes me sad, but I'm sure that's what's going to happen. James has also said that Spike wouldn't be able to accept the whole season 8 relationship (correct me if I'm wrong on that), so he'd probably be really pissed at her and go training off with Illyria, and, in my mind, Faith. I have this whole scenario throughout my mind where he finds out and he's 'moved on' with Faith (but he and Faith actually have more of a brother-and-sister relationship, remember all that sexual tension between them in "Dirty Girls"?)and when he sees Buffy again he's cold and it'll be a huge angsty ride. 😛 Then Cordelia'll somehow come back and make everything okay (I want very much to see a Cangel reunion, that'd make me extremely happy, as would a Xanya and Tillow), and Faith'll end up with Gunn or something along those lines. And Satsu'll end up with Kennedy. Maybe I'm getting a bit too much into this thing. 😛 But me want!

I would love a Spike/Faith arc, but I think that it should be a real, sloppy, holding hands walking down the street, smooching in the movies, two straws in a milkshake, disgustingly romantic sort of thing. Spike was the one to really awaken the fire and sheer animal passion in Buffy, so it's only fair that he show Faith all of the real romance she's missed all of her life. Maybe he could even write her a (good) poem.

(And then we could see a real slap down cat fight between an extremely jealous Buffy and a very possessive Faith with Illyria refereeing and Spike standing back laughing his a** off. Of course, his laughter will make the two Slayers forget their fight and team up to beat the crap out of Spike for starting the whole thing in the first place.)
