It could really work. Two tired, disillusioned warriors, sharing a bottle or four of strong alcoholic beverage. Sharing of troubles, crushed dreams, and lost loves (Maybe both of them lost the same love. That would REALLY seal a bond!). Shared heartbreak leads to mutual comforting, leads to...

Whadda you think? They both deserve a better deal than what Whedon gave them, and I think that they would be great together.
 
Yea.. but Spike has always been more into Buffy and Faith has always been more into Angel. But if Buffy/Spike wasn't going on I definitely see the possibility of a Spike/Faith relationship. And it would be hot.

Yeah, it would, and after careful consideration, I'm on the brink of tipping over the edge to Spaith (?) from Spuffy. I've been re-watching some of the Buffy episodes, primarily the abuse that Buffy and the entire gang dished out to both of these two champions, despite their best efforts to be accepted into the team. Granted, they both had their dark periods, but both were honestly trying to atone, to join in the fight, and still they were basically mistrusted.

Add to that, I'm seriously beginning to believe that Buffy and Angel each deserve the other. They can sit around crying and brooding and bemoaning the fact that their "love can never be." They BOTH threw away honest, unquestioning love in the form of Spike and Cordelia, both by procrastinating and denying what was right under their noses while clinging to the dream of cookie dough. well, I say let Angel have the damn cookies, and let Spike have the red hot chili pepper!

(This is my rant of the month, and I'll probably get over it, but for now, I'm dead serious.)

But still Buffy/Spike and Faith/Angel anyday 😉 But Spaith would be hot. I'd love to see it. haha It would be fun to see the two outsiders together. To see how they acted both in public and private. Hot.

I think that ifit were to happen, Spike and Faith would crawl all over, in private or public, and spectators be damned!
I'm too sold on Spuffy to go for Spaith forever. But as a booty call turned friendship? Sure. As a long-term couple, though, I think they'd be too well matched. Their personalities are too similar. To sell me on Spaith, they'd have to find a way to top the whole soul quest/dying to save the world thing. And that's a tall order. If anyone can do it, Joss can.

Honestly, I'd rather see Faith and Giles. Giles has that dark past and reformation thing going for him, too, after all, but he and Faith are different enough in terms of personality that I think it would work.

For Spike, if he can't have Buffy, I want him with Angel forever. lol. Spike and Angel crack me up together. I think I'd love to watch Angel, Buffy, and Spike dance around their crazy tension/bond for the rest of time. Throw Dru into the mix, and I'm in Heaven. No, wait; I'm in Heeeeaaaaven. I honestly don't care which of those 4 are paired at any given time, provided they're all interacting with each other. Heck, make Angel go Angelus every once in awhile, and I'd watch until hell froze over and Angelus jumped out of the TV to bite a big chunk out of my neck.
 
Well, as I said, this is just my latest rant, and it'll probably pass eventually. As you say, it would probably only be a limited time thing, but it could make a good Season 8 arc, allowing Buffy to finally realize just what she let slip through her fingers, ending happily with a repentant Buffy finally appreciating Spike, and to hell with what anybody else thinks, and a new trust and understanding between Buffy and Faith (plus dare we hope for an occasional conjugal visit just renew the bonds of friendship?)

I agree with JCC. i mean, itd be a short term thing maybe, maybe shed go back to him a few times, but i dont see her having it in her to stay with anyone really for more than a few weeks. I never thought about the two of them together though. That would be pretty sexy stuff.
 
I think you guys are all underestimating Faith. It's my honest opinion that, for a man who would really love her, who would devote himself to her completely, but who was strong enough not to take any crap off of her, she would be pure butter in his hands. Certainly, they'd fight. They'd fight like two wildcats, fight to levels that "When did the house fall down," and "we missed the bed again," would seem positively childish. In Spike, Faith would find her perfect match, her perfect mate. They might not stay together for the long run, but they'd never separate in anger, and they'd never separate permanently. They would always wind up coming back for more. Spike had to awaken the passion in Buffy, and she resisted it every step of the way, even though it brought her back to life. Faith is already an inferno. Spike would only have to fuel an already raging flame.

See, if I'm gonna watch Spike in that sort of relationship, then I want Dru back.

I feel like Spike and Dru are really the ones who are perfectly matched, keep coming back together, and are all full of fiery passion.

Yeah, but Dru is EVIL, puls that relationship was ultimately destructive to Spike. Dru will never really love anybody but "Daddy."`

I've been shipping Spike/Faith for YEARS. I have a general dislike of Buffy as a character...basically because I think she has an ego complex and needs to get over herself and actually listen to her friends, which is besides the point. But anyway, I always viewed Faith as being more compatible with Spike because of their shared past - they've been through the same kind of things, and they have the same kind of mindset about them. They've both been shunned explicitly from the Scoobs for no apparent reason, and they're both trying to atone.

Granted, a lot of those reasons are why Faith gets on with Angel so well. But I've never really considered them together TOGETHER because she looks to him as a mentor. If she were to ever break away from him for whatever reason, I think she can look to Spike for the same things - and he can look to her for those things as well. I just think they mesh together.

Also...HOT. I'm sorry, but I'm shallow and Spike and Faith would be HOTTTTTTT.
 
The first thing that comes to mind with Faith and Spike as a couple is a very hot, passionate, fiery, short relationship. I think they'd burn each other out over a short period of time. Plus like pala said, I think their personalities are too well matched. I think there might need to be some differences to make the relationship last longer.

As for tension, I think they have it in buckets...they would be like a supernatural version of Cordy and Xander 🙂
 
Okay, the general opinion is that on a short term basis, a Spike/Faith match up would be a workable thing, but they wouldn't be able to make a long term thing out of it. How about this: Spike's operating out of LA, Faith works with Giles in Europe. Several times a year, they get together for some mutual gratification. Could THAT be sustained on a long term basis?
 
I think that would work perfectly; lots of short term relations over a long period of time. Sounds very Faith/Spike relationy 🙂

no reason Spike couldn't be seeing them both under the same arrangement. That might be even more interesting.Boffy on even months, Faith on odd months, one week apiece,,,
