Does anyone else want these two to hook up? Or think they would make a good couple? I think they would be funny together. Both beating each other up like he and Buffy used to, which he likes. And they could play crash bandicoot together. Oh ya, it would be adorable.

There's only two people I'd be satisfied seeing Spike with: Buffy or ME!

Seriously, though I honestly didn't see sparks between Spike and Illyria. And I'm not sure she's really capable of that kind of feeling or commitment, and if she was, I think she would have found it with Wesley. Spike amused her. He was like her puppy. She liked seeing how often she could bounce him off of walls or floor and he'd keep getting up. But romance? Don't think so.

I love when he is testing her strength and stuff and she sends him flying through the doors and he proceeds to pick up his clipboard, being as dignified as possible in that situation but the he screams 'YOU FILTHY HARLOT!!!!!' and storms back in!! I see the spark alright but persoanlly I kinda want to see Spike and Faith! their scenes in season 7 were...WOW

Spike and Illyria would make an excellent couple unless Illyria's ego were to get in the way. She already thinks of him as an amusing pet, and that's quite often the beginning of a relationship that is amusing at the very least (just ask my wife), and since they are both immortal, one or the other aging while the other stays young shouldn't be an issue. Also, Illyria hinted that she could "appear however she chooses," there's the possibility of an eternity of ...variety...for Spike.

haha, I love it.
would i like to see it? yes.

would it ever happen? no.

honestly, i just didnt think there was enough chemistry between the two. i think it was mainly due to spike being a new character on the show. what i mean is, there is no history between the two of them. a 'history' is what makes for good love-drama.

also, i think there is much more to explore with the bangle spuffy triangle. id like to see that go on for at least another season or two.

plus, i think cordelia is hot. that has nothing to do with this post, but i wanted everyone to know it.:lmao:

Cordelia is a hottie. I will second that.
Chemistry...

It might not take anything in the way of chemistry. Illyria could simply be curious about her shell's "baser emotions and desires," and request a demonstration from her favorite pet. Spike being Spike...Well, let's just say it's been a long dry spell, and he's probably pretty thirsty by now.

Yeah - that would all practical and whatnot, but I don't think it would be particularly entertaining. It sounds about as exciting as a sex ed video. It's be easier just to queue up "The Miracle of Life" and be done with it. Besides, I think that at this point, Illyria would be completely disgusted by any and all of her shell's bodily functions. She already acts like the first flicker of emotion is disgusting.

Hmmm... now I have questions. Does she eat? Does she sleep? Does she, I don't know... go to the bathroom? Does she feel it when she gets cut? Does she.. ummm... I don't know... have any normal bodily functions at all? I mean, she hollowed out all of Fred's organs so that she could take over, right? Those systems don't work anymore. I imagine that that would include sensory organs, too.

If Illyria even can feel anything, I think she has years -- possibly decades or even centuries -- of humanizing to go before she'd ever let anyone touch her that way. For now, it would seem too human... and therefore disgusting.

Besides, Spike doesn't lust after her. No one but Connor does, and she picked up on that right away. The rest all see her as sort of a thing rather than as a woman.

"Does she eat?" Well, there's that petrie dish. As for bodily functions, that's something she and Spike may have in common...
When the gang used that thingamagig to take some of her powers and such, do you think it was possible that it made her more human? I mean I am probably fetching here but you never know. Maybe she has to eat and go to the washroom but we don't know about it. I doubt it but I guess anything's possible ya?

As far as that goes, the "going to the bathroom" thing could be asked of any of them, except to take showers and attempt to rape Slayers. Frankly, I'm just as happy not knowing.

Illyria was an entirely new character nearly 2/3's of the way through season 5.
Amy Acker had to play her different to Fred so how does the fault fall at Spikes feet because there is no history between them.
And there was no history between Angel and Buffy before they got together and had a great run.
What actually makes for a 'good love-drama' is credible writing and acting and we ALL know that Buffy/Angel had credible writing and James and Amy were both great actors.
Also there was something between Spike/Fred, a mutual respect that grew into a tight friendship in less than a year and there was a very interesting relationship brewing between Spike and Illyria.

If there was one thing on Buffy that didn't need further development its the Spuffy/Bangel stuff.

On the topic, Spike and Illyria made a wonderful pairing but romantically, I wouldn't be interested. I'd prefer them to partner up and save the world.

Yes partner up to save the world. I wouldn't mind some more a** kicking between them too though.
Then, again, if Buffy found out that Spike was doin' the nasty with Illyria while Angel had his own private werewolf while she's off in Scotland "missing that sex," there could be some real interesting fireworks.

She'd kick their asses but then I'm flashing back to her playing nurse to them both!
I think there'll be some real interesting fireworks when Buffy finds out that Spike's alive and nobody bothered to tell her.

Especially Spike!!! cuz really it was up to him to do it!

i wasnt implying that it was "at spikes feet," but i can see how you interpreted that through what i wrote. in order to further clarify, by spike being new to the show AND illyria being a new character too, not much history between the two presented itself.

further, i agree that "great" acting and writing can make any situation work for a show, but i cant help but go back to the question initially asked by the wonderful TR for this thread, "does anyone else want these two to hook up?" my response was, and still is, "yes!"...........however, it wont happen.

Well atleast it was a 'yes.' :)
nah, can't say i'm interested in seeing spilyria. would much rather see them become commrades in the fight against eveil - assuming that Illyria is 'good' or at the very least on Angel's team....
