Spike and Love?

Ok so I have been thinking about something In the Season finale of Buffy "Chosen" Buffy says I love u 2 spike and he says no u don't, but thanks for saying it. Now the thing I am wondering about is y if Spike has realised that Buffy does not love him y does he want her in "The Girl in Question"

he tells angel he knows he doesn't have a shot with her but he still cares about her and doesn't want her to end up with a jerk like the immortal, or angel. I still want a scene of Buffy telling Angel and Spike off... and they go home and ACTULLY move on.

spike might not have believed buffy when she said that to him, but it doesn't stop him from loving her.
buffy is spike's true love. he will love her until the day he dies, whether that was in the alley, or whenever.
he loves buffy, and if they can't be together, he wants her to be happy, as long as that's not with angel or the immortal!!

What makes you all think that Buffy wasn't in love with Spike by the end of Season 7? Because Spike, who has been off in judging her emotions all season long, said so? Or because Buffy didn't act like an infatuated schoolgirl around him, the way she did with Angel?

What if Spike had been wrong?

I think that people still view Buffy's love life as if she was still a teenager.

Because If she was in love with Spike she would have said something 2 him after he said what he said! There is no way that if someone u love said to u that you dont love them u would not defend urself. I never though that Buffy was in love with Spike - ever.

I think she might have been in love with Spike it might not be as strong as her love for Angel but there was definately something there.

I agree. I think she loved him in some way, but I don't' think she was in love with Spike.
However, I think Buffy never loved Spike the way he loved her and when she said to him "I love you" and he responded "No you don't, but thanks for saying it", I didn't think he just said that to get rid of her, he just knew that Buffy will never love him back the way he does her. It doesn't mean he will ever stop caring for her and loving her even if the feelings aren't reciprocated.

Spike loved her - and to him it didn't matter that she loved him back. As long as she's happy(Without Angel or the Immortal) he'll be happy.

I think she loved him, in some shape or form, but they had been through tooo much together to ever BE together. Spike knew that she felt something for him in S6(at the end) because he could always read her better than anyone(even herself).

But I don't think she ever REALLY loved him, like she loved Angel which is what Spike wanted. He wanted to be her Angel, only not the actual Angel just the symbolization their love had. I don't veiw her love life like she was still a teenager because she is a different person. Spike knew that she would never REALLY "love" him.

Probably doesn't make sense...lol

It's not a a matter of Spike understanding (that in some opinions) Buffy doesn't love him. It's a matter of wanting to be near her, see her, and show her that he's alive. Everyone knows that Spike doesn't give up that easy... so why would he quit about loving Buffy?
