Ok so I just got done watchin' school hard and I was wondering if Spike had ever been to sunnydale before this episode. When he knocks over the sign and he gets out of his car he says Home sweet Home. I don't recall him being in sunnydale before this. Anyone shed any light?
 
I think he was just referring to the fact that Sunnydale was where he and Dru were going to set up. It was going to be there home. I mean you say 'Home Sweet Home' when you finish unpacking in a new house don't you?
It could also refer to that Sunnydale is the Hellmouth and the Hellmouth is home to all things dark and vampy.

yeah i think joyce is right. I think it is only the fact that he and Dru were probly going to be staying there for a while or maybe it was a hint into the fact that he might be coming back to sunnydale time and time agian and it ending up becoming his only home!!! i dont k now that is just a theroy.
 
I agree with Joyce. Plus, wasn't the order of Aurelius located there? Well, at least the Master and Darla were in Sunnydale, and Spike is a descendant of their blood line, so it's possible he'd been there before.
 
Don't forget about the Hellmouth. I mean the Hellmouth is the home of all evil and when Spike comes to Sunnydale he is evil. So technically where the Hellmouth is, that's where home is.

Didn't Angel and Darla take Spike to meet the Master once in a flashback? Assuming the Master was always in Sunyndale, it would mean that Spike's been there atleast once in his life/afterlife

I don't think the master was always in Sunnydale. The way I understood it, he only came there like 70 years before (when he got trappped). Before that he was located beneath London.
 
You would think he would have been there before. I mean it's a hellmouth, most demons/vamps will have been there before...? So I'm half in agreement with the others half thinkin' yeah he probably has been there before.
 
I think Spike means hes meant to have been coming here for a years now hes finally home . Cause I would imagine that lots of Vamps would be goin there because its the in thing to do , go to the hellmouth it draws evil x

Spike would be like bugger this am away to Italy x
 
I think he just felt a sense of home and settling. Also, it's just for viewers to think he's a character to watch out for, and not a one ep wonder
