Could Spike and Darla work as a couple? They are both obsessive, rejected by people who they consider the loves of their lives, and enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

While they certainly do have some things in common I think they would just make each other miserable. Spike would drive Darla crazy, and not in a good way; in a I'd rather dust you and be alone sorta way. Plus, Spike would be a constant reminder of Angelus and the fang gang.

I could see them teaming up to get revenge on Angel and Dru but I have a hard time picturing them as a couple.

Interestingly enough, I think Darla and Spike is the only combination of two people within the Fanged Four that hasn't had any significant interaction.

I think Spike is too immature for Darla- she seemed to get annoyed when he went off on one and got excited about starting fights. I think he was always considered as Drusilla's playmate rather than as a friend or anything like that, so I can't really seeing them being anything more.

This is exactly why I think Spike and Darla would never work together. In their flashback scenes, I always got the feeling that Darla just kinda put up with Spike, not that she actually cared if he were around or not, you know?

I can see a dynamic between Spike and Darla in which Darla tries to be a mature influence on the restless Spike. I can also see them having an unpredictable love/hate relationship.

I can't see Darla putting up with Spike. He would probably find her a buzzkill and she would find him immature. I think she wants to have more control over her partner than she could with Spike. I never found patience a strong suit of hers
