Spike: did he forget meeting Doyle..?

I just rewatched In the dark and also your welcome and something just struck me Spike believed that "Doyle" was the one sent by the Powers but when i watched in the dark Spike met Doyle in Angel's Appartment with Cordy and also when they both went to get Angel away from Spike and his torturer either Spike has a memory laspe or the script writters do lol..
it just struck me as odd that Spike had forgotten what Doyle looked like i mean on hearing the name it would of rung a bell surely..? i'm not saying he knew Doyle had the visions back in the ep in the dark.

discuss..? anyone else notice this..?

I've argued this before, but honestly, if you think about it, what really has transpired?
4 Years pass, in 'In the Dark' they meet for like 5 minutes maximum, Doyle isnt the only person with that name, Spike didn't know about the Visions from what we gather, all that kinda says its easy to have forgotten someones name isnt it.

I don't think he actually met Doyle. Spike saw him but I don't remember his name being mentioned with Spike around. Also like everyone else said, Spike didn't even know about the visions.

It is an interesting point. However, I agree with what everyone else said. Spike didn't know about the visions, he only met Doyle for a few moments, and am not sure he even caught his name. Also, Spike could have just assumed that this was some guy who helping out Angel and Cordy. He had no idea that this was the guy who got Angel started on his new path towards redemption. Oz being there may also have been kind of chaotic.
