Spike Movie 2009 Marsters Gives Whedon a One Year Ultimatum

Great idea and personaly I don't care of his hypothetical arrogance because I love the idea. But like some already said, it'd need other characters of the Buffyverse (all of them would be the dream lol).
 
Well James was talking about spike moving on and he's not gonna look for a job cause he don't wanna work, but yet spike will find a way to take care of his prioroties to live. And he obviously meets a girl and becomes conflicted about him being a vampire and keeps it from her. Later on he will lose her again.

I'd love for there to be a Spike movie. Seriously, I'd have a little fan girl spazz out if it came to light; but I really doubt it ever will. I mean, a year? I'm both hopeful and sceptical.
 
I don't see Joss seriously venturing back into any live action treatment of the Buffyverse or its various characters any time in the next five to ten years, simply because he wants to prove to the world, and himself, that Slayers and vampires aren't the only thing that he can sell a marketable story or series about. By the time, if at all, he finally does decide to return to the world of vampires and demons, it will almost certainly be with an entire cast of new faces. For that reason, I seriously doubt that we will ever see a Spike movie, a Ripper movie, or a Buffy movie involving either him or any of the original crew or cast. It's fun to dream and to speculate, but I don't think that it'll ever go beyond that stage. So enjoy the new Joss-less Buffy movie, folks, or ignore it completely. The cruel fact is, it's all that we're likely to get for a long time to come.

Joss did "Toy Story," and I believe that he did some work on several other scripts in his early career, but very few people associate him with anything except Buffy these days. It's the curse of Hollywood: "Yeah, but what have you done LATELY?" Whatever the last thing that a writer or actor does, whether it's a hit or a flop, is what he's associated with.

So Spike falls in love with another girl besides Buffy? hmm... don't like the sound of that already.

Why not? If we can believe that Angel could love someone else after Buffy (Cordy, Nina, Faith, or someone who he hasn't even met yet) and that, likewise, Buffy can love someone else after Angel (Riley, Spike, Satsu, or someone that she hasn't met yet) why would Spike be any different. I think that it might be interesting for Spike to get into a real holding hands walking down the street, giggling and smooching in the movies, two straws in one milkshake, go home to meet her mother kind of real, tender, romantic relationship with someone who really loves and appreciates him.

And then let Buffy find out too late just what she COULD have had if she hadn't been so concerned with what her "friends" might think.

I doubt it will happen. It's been 6 years since Buffy ended and the only people interested in doing anything Buffy related are the Kuziu's[Sp?]. If a Spike movie does happen within a year, I'd be shocked.
