Spike or Angel?

Me and my mate argue alot about who's a better character what do you guys think.

I prefer Angel because he seeks redemption and is the warrior of the people. Moves to L.A. to save lifes. You can trust Angel with your life and you wont be dispointed. Angel will always help you no matter what. Also Angel can be very evil if he's Angelus. I like the idea of his two sides.


Spike is funny but les herioc I dont like how he goes and earns a soul why would a vampire do that? Spike is also stupid and impaintent.


What do you guys think about these characters. Anyone agree with me?
 
Hmmm, the old "which ensouled vamp is better" debate. Never get tired of this thread topic! 😉

Dancing Man, you might want to check out some of the older threads around here because this subject has been discussed many, many times before so rather than start a whole new thread and get the same old answers maybe just add your opinion to one that is already ongoing? 🙂
 
Have a quick search through the various sections of the boards, you will find a good few, trust me! 😉
 
Spike. I definatly *love* Spike better. He doesn't have bad hair days all the time. And plus, i've never liked Angel. He's too...broody.
 
Angel's lame. His hair grows straight up, and he's bloody stupid.

Of all the posts to double, this one has to be the best. 😀
 
oh goody another thread like this... why is it that Angel fans always start them anyway?

Spike in my opinion was a better character because he didn't start out heroic yet was heroic at times even when he was soulless.

Angel was heroic only because he felt guilty from everything he had done as Angelus.

Personally, I like both characters but I do favor Spike over Angel.

Fans will never agree (like my friend said, you either favor Spike, Angel, hate them both, or wish for them to hook up) , there is no real point to ask the question. You either get it or you don't.

I so agree, Think of season 2, Spikes "Evil" plan for the season bring Drusilla back, Angels: Destroy Buffy, emotional, Physically and then end the world.
Angel makes a much better bad guy and a much better good guy, Spike did not have the balls to be a bad guy, he couldn't even get on board with the plan to end the world, And when Angel got his soul he went through Years of guilt, Spike went through Months. Showing Angel is obliviously a better good guy.

like you said Spike always sucked at being a "bad guy" why would he have MORE or even the same amount of guilt to someone who mastered it? Spike EARNED his soul, which would also lessen the guilt and he only snapped out of his crazy basementness because BUFFY told him she preferred the soulless version.

BTW I liked the fact that Spike's evil plan was to save the woman he loved, how is him sucking as a villain a bad thing? The fact that ANGELUS was basically doing the opposite should annoy you, he was trying to kill the woman he loved (past tense) Ineffectively might I add.

Yes, It shows he actually cared about the amount of people he had killed.

I said his plan sucked, that does not take away from all the people he killed, and out of all those peoples pain and suffering it took him months to recover, oh wow he obliviously has a really good soul.

Spike EARNED his soul, which would also lessen the guilt

He did it as a way to feel love, because he could not feel it properly as a vampire and he was confused, he thought if he had a soul he could understand love, and that in turn would make Buffy love him, He did it for purely self motivated reasons, EARNED his soul, pfft, he was a selfish demon who did not understand love.

Oand he only snapped out of his crazy basementness because BUFFY told him she preferred the soulless version

Oh wow, well I am so glad that all it took was buffy telling him so, to make him stop caring about all the people he had killed! and he did, with Angel we constantly see that guilt hanging over him, that's not there with spike, the only thing on Spikes mind was Buffy!

I'm not adding anything else here (because I hate these threads anyway) but as I recall unlike Angelus' evil plan, Spike's worked...
 
Emm yes it did work, except then he lost the power to work, which lead to Dru leaving him, so really it failed...
 
Yes, but at the time she was with Spike, then he lost the ability to walk and she moved on to Angel
