Spike or Angel?

One problam, if they ever merge Angel and Spike, who will play this Spangel-character? It's a good solutions for when either of them wants to leave, though!

Well, maybe Angel really should be the one to become human, but in Joss's wacky world of Buffyverse ( or is it Angelverse? Anyways...), anything can happen!

I just don't think we are ever going to find out who Shanshu's, least not in the foreseeable future. Just because of this, it would be a bad for Angel to Shanshu, because he is a head of an evil law firm at this point, the powers probably wouldn't want to reward him for that. And Spike, he doesn't really want to shanshu, he just wants it because Angel wants it. Spike loves being a vampire and wouldn't give that up for the world or Buffy. So my money is that neither will shanshu at the end of the series at least.

Well, I honestly don't think that Angel's too happy with the lawfirm right now in the first place, and I wouldn't be surprised if he left it since they don't seem to want to help Fred or give any information on her...I think it should be Angel as much as I love Spike, but as they said before, Angel has suffered longer, been good longer, and it's his show...he's been searching for it for the longest time...oh well. Joss might be mean and not let him.

Wow....Lots of negativity about Spike becoming human. Personally I dont want it to happen to either of them, that would definitely be the end of Angel. Do you really think that Angel would continue to battle for good? He would no longer have the "immortal" strength and ability to heal quickly. Of course anymore.. Who knows what will happen.

Spike is a nicer person, but I don't think that counts for much when it comes to Shanshu.

Angel is interesting, but I don't think he will get it in the near future. Angel wants to Shanshu to win a girl (first Buffy then Cordy then both etc..). He cares about the world but has some really nasty reactions to people he cares about. He tried to smother Wesley, his best friend, with a pillow and was willing to kill Cordy without considering other options. That is not the behavior of a good man.

Angel is a show that is willing to blur the lines between good and evil. Wesley is not a nice man and not really a good man but he fights for good and is a sympathetic person.

Angel has become increasingly scarry as the show progresses. He fights for good but is not necessarily a good man. Liam was a womanizer (no crime) and Angel is a wantabe womanizer. He fights for good but isn't always moral. Angelus is a part of Angel not a separate entity. He is what Angel becomes if he is unrestrained by morality and lets his wants and lusts take over.

I like Angel, but suffering doesn't earn a reward, goodness does. Angel has suffered, but Spike despite his badboy attitude is a nice man who cares deeply about the people he loves. He falls in love hard to the point of absolute devotion and tries not to hurt people. Everyone who said that Spike would be borring human, just think of the anguish it would put him through.

Should he tell Buffy? She thinks he's dead. What if she didn't want him? How can he fight without Vampire strength since everyone relies on him for muscle? What is his new purpose? Come on everybody I know you love tortured Spike. He is so much more interesting than broody Angel.

I have a theory that I posted a long ways back in another thread, but I think they will both Shanshu because:

I think that Angel and Spike are actually the same person. Two halves split in two. Once the prophecy is fulfilled, they will finally become one person (who probably will end up being Joss Whedon or something odd and twisted like that).

OK...... they have already gotten into the pasts of both characters. They are both from different times w/ different human families, and are from different countries. (Liam is from Ireland and William is from England) There is no possible way that they could be the same person split in two. That is simply too outlandish a theory... no offence intended in any way.

But I am willing to bet big money that neither will shanshu in this season's events. Remember the show might be ending, but there will probably be at least two movie events in the next few years (can anyone say Alien Nation).

i think angel should get it after all he was the first he's worked the hardest for it ok so spikes got one too but he had a choise in the matter that was what he wanted. so hes got his prise angel he had to work really hard. he didnt have buffy or the scobbie gang to help him out it was all by his own.

he's been fighting the good fight for so long how can anyone tell him hes insignificant. hes saved so many people he's given his heart to so many people he needs to be shown that it wanst all in vain

Honestly I don't think either will get it. If one of them does it will be Angel. Who should get it, Spike, of course!lol

What if it's already happened? Think about it... Connor was born of the union of two vampires, he has the abilities, we know he is at least part demon. Perhaps he is a vampire, just a new variation.

We also know he has a soul.

He killed Jasmine. Connor saved many people from being eaten. He saved the world from being enslaved. He stopped the world as we know it from being destroyed.

Then Angel gets W&H to give him a normal life. It is safe to assume that means he no longer has his powers, since that would probably clue him in to the fact that he isn't normal. So Connor has become human.

So, perhaps W&H brought about Connor's own little 'shanshu' and that's that, prophesy fulfilled.

I know its more than a long shot, but the idea occurred to me so I thought I'd throw it out there. It seems almost "Whedon"-esque. Neither Spike nor Angel get what they want (leaving them both a little hollow and available for spinoffs and TV movies) there's also the lovely idea that Angel asked for this to happen to Connor, so, in typical tragic style, he screws himself and actively helps someone else get the reward he so desperately seeks.

Just a thought.

Here's another possible foiler to put on the list behind Spike & Angel together, Harmony, or Connor: Does anyone else wonder how Angel knows Drogyn? What if Drogyn is a vampire? A vampire with a soul.

I don't think that's the case, but if we're looking for foilers...
