Spike-please help

well ok this is kind of a spoiler to people so









Ok, I was just wondering whats happend to Spike, Didnt he want to become a evil vampire again? so why did he get his soul back is he going to be another Angel or somthing. He also said to the demon that he wanted to be back to the way he was, did he mean as a human or a vampire somone please explain to me.
 
🙂 The writers stated that he went to the demon in the cave to get his "soul" back. I think they wanted us to believe that he wanted to go back to being a evil soulless vamp , a "red herring " so to speak. But if you think about it, he did not have to have the chip remove , to be able to hurt Buffy. We found out in "Smashed" that he could as well as In " seeing red ". So he would not have to travel across the world to do that. When the writers kept drumming it into our heads that Spike was a soulless evil vamp, I figure it out a long time ago. Buffy kept repeatting That she could possible love a "soulless" Vamp. So, Spike took that excuse away. I think Buffy might not be so please, when he return with a soul-like Angel. Just like she pointed out the different between Angel and Angelus, she now will be have to know the different between Spike and William.😉
 
that's a great answer. when i review the entire situation, that demon didn't answer his question but what he wanted secretly (i think).
 
I was watching the final episode for this season the other day, and I heard Spike say, "now give me what I want so Buffy can finally get what she deserves!"

Of course, Spike believed that he wanted the chip out of his head, but the Demon knew what he really wanted...interesting, interesting...
 
No one's written on this thread for awhile but I'm going to now. James Marsters stated that Joss didn't tell him while they were shooting that his character wanted his soul back. However, James was under the impression that Spike, in fact, was looking to retreat to his evil ways. I assume that is why there is so much speculation on the topic. James played it as if he wanted to be the Big Bad again, although it is not what Spike wanted. But like I always say: Joss always knows exactly what he is doing.
 
I think these are all really interesting. i think that maybe that the Demon tricked spike or well done something to spike that he didn't mean. well somthing along those lines.
 
i didn't think spike intended to get his soul back. i thought he just wanted to get the chip out, to return to his former self. he just happened to choose the wrong words once he had passed the test, "give buffy what she deserves".

or maybe he planned to get a soul all along. but if that was the case, why not just ask to be human, rather than a vampire?

i confused.
 
Well though if he was human like with what happend with Angel when he was just how much help would he really be ? So Spike being Human would be nice but he couldnt really help along side Buffy like he use to right he could still fight like the other Scobbies but I think it would be hard after you have had vampire strength to relie on for years
 
I think they will plat it out as Spike wanted the chip removed but when he said about being what has was before he wasnt specific enough with the demon so he got his soul back instead. Just my veiw its almost certantly wrong.
 
I think Spike may have wanted to get the chip out on a *conscious* level, but maybe he had an *unsconscious* desire to get his soul back.

In any case:
1) His wording wasn't specific enough.
2) You can never trust a wish-granting demon.
 
he probably did want a soul, subconsciously, so buffy could love him.
and you're right, he was hardly specific while making his wish.
 
Yay, in that eppy where he went to the demon cave, all the demon said was "You want to return to your former self." and Spike said yes. In his mind, he wanted to return as William the Bloody. In the demon's mind, he wanted to return as William... the man he was before Angelus turned him into a vampire. A witty trick on Joss's part.
 
Spike was turned into a vampire by Drusilla not angel although in the beginning spike called angel his sire but he isn't. It will be interesting to see what happens with spike.
