Q&A with James Marsters where he reveals that we most likely haven't seen the last of Spike.

Report

The convention started at 1 PM and was chaotic with very little help offered. Since it wasn't very well organized, everyone waited an especially long time to get their autographs signed.

Slayer and James shaked hands during the autograph signing and a brief Q&A followed. On behalf of Buffy Online, Slayer thanked him for his contributions to the Jossverse and James complimented the site. While he may have merely been being polite, the possibility that he's award of Slayerverse.de is something we're very proud of.

During their meeting James expressed how much he appreciated the efforts made by SavingAngel.com and clearly stated that they were not in vain. To loosely quote him, he said: "I don't believe your efforts were senseless. We are discussing a new Spike TV movie project." He was referring to a Spike-centered movie, not one for the Angel series. James also remarked that the campaign "made us look sooo good." When another team member introduced herself to him, he said "you guys all rock" and promised to send us an email. He put the piece of paper with Slayers email address in his Guide to Berlin book, so hopefully we'll hear from him one day.

When the main event started, they showed several familiar Spike centric videos, a few of which have been posted here at Slayerverse.

At the first panel, only questions for Ghost of the Robot were accepted. The inquiries were predictable such as when they started the band and how they met, and they revealed that their second album will be out "when it's perfect." According to James, several record companies have approached GotR in hopes to add them to their lineup, but they wish to remain independent and have no desire to become commercial. James paced about the entire time and was extremely active, shouting loudly and making sure everyone was having a good time.

Ghost of the Robot then left to visit Berlin and James signed autographs on his way out. During the break they aired Chance, Amber Bensons independent film starring James. When he returned there was a quick Buffy/Angel related Q&A but there were no revelations.

The second panel was crowded and lights were flashing from every corner. Although the event organizers made attempts to control the crowd, they kept making noise and taking photographs, albeit peacefully and without causing any harm. James was patient and when the stuarts reminded them not to use flash lights, he said he didn't mind.

Toward the end a competition was held and James chose the three winners. Among the prizes was a 250 limited edition Spike promo that normally costs eighty dollars and rare signed issue of the Hollywood Reporter featuring the James "Thank You" ad. One lucky girl and Slayerverse user who won was kissed on the neck by James, and she assures us all that he smells very nice.

Back on stage James sucked on a lollipop that a fan threw to him and later performed a scene from Macbeth. Also, for those wondering, his hair is still shaved, but he looks as hot as ever and it doesn't add any years on him.

James was pleasant and charismatic the entire time, obviously enjoying himself and therefore making it enjoyable for everyone else as well. If you have a chance to attend a convention where he's a guest, we highly recommend it!

Interesting, if they do it well it should be cool.

While I appreciate GOTR not going commerical I wish they would release their album in shops, or at least not close their online site during the tour, when I get paid.

I would be very interested in seeing a Spike TV movie. It would be a nice solo project. And I haven't heard GotR yet. I should do that.

James does like his lollypops, when I saw him at a con most of the time he did have one in his mouth.
