Spike Vs Angel,Who'd whup who?

Spike VS. Angel, I'd have to say would be an even match. When Spike was on Angel they fought at times and it always seemed fairly even. So I'm going to give that one to Spike because he has always been my favorite.

I LOVE Spike so it pains me to say this but if it was Spike VS. Angelus than Angelus would whup his butt. Angelus has more excperience and is just plain evil. He is ruthless and sneaky and plays mind tricks. Where as Spike just knows how to fight and piss people off.
 
Angel would kill Spike with no problem. All he would have to do is piss him off and get him sloppy. Angel is smarter than Spike I think when it comes to fighting.

Lets look at the facts.............
Angel is a simpering,puppydog eyed,cradle snatcher.
Spike is hard core,double slayer killing,rock'n'roll badass.
Angelus is evil,torturous,mind game playing,and bad to the bone.
The original Spike from School Hard was just as bad,just as evil,and played mind games too.
So it comes down to which individuals we are talking about really.
Who came closes to killing the slayer?
Spike in Halloween,had the Slayer in his grasp,only for the spell to wear off.
Angel had her in Becoming part 1 or 2,cant remember exactly.
Only for her to catch the sword between her hands.
Both have fought the slayer and lost.
They have fought each other and won,lost,or drawn.
My theory is that Spike is better,in every way shape and form.
If Spike lost it big time,he'd end Angel................
Just my opinion of course🙂

Angel, he's more resourceful and proactive in fighting whereas Spike is much more get to the point smash and brawl. He reacts to provocation too easily and since Angel's such a master of manipulation, Astronauts win....wait..

Spike is not "just a brawler",he has finess.
Ok,i'll agree on this:
Spike can,and has been sloppy,but when he turns on the style he can fight with the martial arts of a ninja.
Where is Angels finess,he just does the same stuff.
The only time i've seen Angel in a good fight is against Riley.
Now that was a good fight,one of my favourites.
I like Angel,dont get me wrong.
Its just i like Spike more.
Hes more battle hardened,even though Angel is older.
Cant we just put them into a room and let 'em go at it?
All joking aside,i think it would be close,to close to call,imo.
We will never know will we,its just peoples fav's against peoples fav's innnit.
Lets not fight about it😉
 
Angel has NEVER killed a Slayer, YET! Considering that slayers are stronger than vampires, Spike has killed two.

Spike had an inferiority complex with Angel (little brother struggling in the shadow of the big brother) and in "Destiny", I think that he had overcame it.
Who'll win? Flip a coin.

I think it depends on what mood Angel is in and what they were fighting for. It would also depend on if we are talking vamps with or without souls.

I agree with the 'what mood and what they're fighting for' thing. Just like with the fight in "Destiny", fight won because he wanted it more. Imagine if they were fighting over Buffy? That would be a close one.
I have never seen Angel get angry, not like Spike does. If Angel did lose it big time, and Spike was not too bothered, he would win the fight. But if it was the other way around then Spike would beat him.

They both have the tools to inflict serious damage on the other, but always stop at that point. The reason is they do care for one another, in some way, so would never fight to the death really.
 
I think it would be very circumstancial as to what time period it happened in because i imagine very different outcomes for possible scenarios. Let's say the fight was over Buffy then who do you think would win?

Good point iDarthRosenberg.
The conditions, circumstances of the fight between Angel and Spike would have a great deal of influence on who would win.
In the case of the fight in Destiny, Spike really did want it more, he wanted one up on Angel, that's all he had on his mind when he was fighting whereas Angel, being his usual self, felt deep down that maybe he didn't deserve to fulfil the prophecy.

I think the same goes with the who would win over a fight for Buffy.
As much as I hate to say it, being a Bangel, I think Spike would win, only because once again he has one thing on his mind, for HIM to be with Buffy. Angel, out of the two, would be more likely to think beyond that. Knowing that Spike loves Buffy just as much as him and knowing that she could at least be happy with Spike could be what gives Spike the upper hand. But then again, Buffy would just break the fight ASAP if this would ever happen in the first place. 🙂

I think that it would depend entirely on the situation.

Like, if it was Spike with a soul vs. Angel with a soul, then I think that Spike would win. He was a good fighter when he was just fighting to fight and to survive, but caring about people, like Buffy, he could definitely do a lot more damage with the right incentive.

Angel doesn't have all that much more experience than Spike, if you consider the years he was wit sould but without purpose. Sure, he's just been fighting on the good side for longer, but Spike is a lot more feisty and passionate. I think Angel's level head, while good for planning, would restrict him in a fight with Spike. Angel would see a helpless person, or something, and try to protect them at the same time as fighting Spike, and he'd lose. Spike with a soul is unbeatable when fighting for a cause, in my opinion.
 
I think it would have to depend on luck. I honestly can't choose between them...so it would have to come down to who got the lucky break. They're both amazing fighters who would never give up. Angel is smart and Spike is quick. Wow, such a hot fight....:nibble6::whistle: Who would I WANT to win is an entirelt different question.
 
While I first started reading through the replies with the stubborn one-track mind of "Angel would win! He always beat Spike, why would this be any different?", I have to agree with those of you who say it would depend on the situation and what they were fighting for. Like many of you have already said, Spike won in "Destiny" because he really did want it more. If it was something Angel wanted/needed more, or thought he deserved (whichever it may be) he would have won. They're both great fighters, it would be one hell of a scene for sure. and I think the only way they'd ever fight to the death was if they actually were fighting over Buffy. lol.
 
I think that Angel would win regardless in the end, just because he thinks.
Spike just goes on pure impluse.
When Spike got his soul back it was almost like he lost his fire, he was so ruthless before when he fought, but be became more tame.
 
Angel. He has years more experience and is calculating to the end... But Spike would put up quite a fight to be sure. Think this needs to be a movie...
 
While I'm a Spuffy fan, and have never seen the Angel series (aside from one episode, and I have the first season on DVD, I plan on watching it to help me get through the spring semester, seeing as Buffy is getting me through this one) I would say it would depend on a lot of things such as...
Environment
Resources/Available Weapons
and whether or not they have their souls or not...
 
I think that circumstances would matter-a lucky break for one or the other, how motivated they were. In general, I think Spike would win because he has so much passion in him. But I think if it were Spike and Angelus, Angelus would kick his butt. Angelus is a bad@$$.
 
Yea I think Angel would have the upper hand.

Personally i LIKE spike more (hence the avatar pic 😛). plus the whole billy idol/punk rock connection there lol.

But while I feel spike is the more vicious of the two (when we're talking Angel NOT angelus) Angel has... what? A good 100+ years on spike.

It just comes down to experience. Angel's been in more scrapes than spike and come out on top. He KNOWS more.

and as we all know... Knowing is half the battle (sorry lol i couldn't resist 😛).

so yea. in a 1 vs 1 throw down I'd say angel would trash spike.
