Question Spike

I always thought it was Lindsey McDonald and Eve? Doesn't he say, "get anything good in the mail lately?" or something like that?

What I always wondered was, going back to season 4 of Angel when Lilah gives Angel the amulet was that just Wolfram and hart providing a solution because it would be very bad for business if ubervamps and the first evil took over the world or were Lilah and Lindsey on cahoots? or maybe Eve and Lindsey concocted their plan after the event, just making use of the situation? And did lindsey (or someone else) go down into the Sunnydale crater to retrieve the amulet?

So many questions...

Well, I know that Eve and Lindsey wanted Spike to think he was the one the Shanshu Prophecy was written about, but why? So Spike would kill Angel in the process?
 
So Spike would kill Angel AND take down W and H would be my guess. Remember, he wanted revenge, and tried to convince Spike that he was a hero, and make Angel-run W and H out to be an enemy.

Yeah, that makes sense, I guess...still, the whole plot is really confusing.
 
It does get to be a bit much with Old Ones and W and H middle management and the link and Lindsey/the necklace and angels secret plan, etc. etc.
