Spike's appearance as non-vampire

Did anyone else notice at the end of the first episode of season two that Spike was sitting in the seat in front of the one Buffy sat in next to Xander and Willow?

WHAT? I didn't know this... must be some sort of dopplganger. Do you mean in the episode "When She Was Bad"?

Everyone claims it looks just like James Marsters. I have a screen shot, but I am not allowed to post pictures until I have made fifteen posts.

I did some googling, and even though it does appear to be him, he was asked at a conference about his appearance in that episode and he replied that it was not him.

It's not him, though it sure looks like it.

Does anyone else think it looks like a combination between Dawson Leery and Spike?

I know it's a little left field but seriously...

Well, I doubt it could have been, considering that James was 35 years old at the time, it doesn't look much like him, 'cept the hair.
Maybe Joss was getting in some practise.

Maybe it was Stephen Meyer getting a feel for the vampire stuff, he did do such a good job in the film Priest and the TV series True Blood (Bill).
I did wonder at the time if he been involved with vampire related shows.

Haha it's not him, I remember reading somewhere that he addressed it and said it wasn't him. It also doesn't look like him at all to me.

OMG I never noticed this before!!! It really does look like him. Crazy how you can watch the show so much & still not notice small things like this...another reason why I love this show so much.

That's hilarious! There is some resemblance, but you can tell it's not James.

He definitely has a look of him. But I think it's probably just a coincidink and not some kind of sinister plan to bewilder us all.
