Spike's lame excuse...in "Harm's Way"

Did anyone else think that the excuse Spike gave for not leaving to go to Europe the most self centred and lamest ever!!!! Either Joss was trying to screw with us or Spike was lying to Harmony or ....Joss has lost it and Spike should have stayed dead. Any thoughts??? ::skull:: ::skull:: ::skull::

Why were you laughing? We all have to have something that moves us. Spike and Buffy move me. And not that way - well, maybe a little. I really wish that he had burnt up and stayed that way if they are going to ruin him on Angel. ::crying:: ::crying:: ::crying::

What!? He's still the one thing that get me to watch the show. I mean now that the rest of the cast is getting boring. And he's funny as well....

Btw I dont see it as that. Joss may have lost it, but this isnt really his or James' thing! Its up to SMG, to come back and make a real finall on the relationship's. Untill then, it would seem dumb that Spike just call her up, or "went to Italy" for a episode or two.

Also why wont you Spuffy shippers admit that the Spike/Buffy thing is dead! Yeah Spike still have feelings for her and ect, but the ship died back in Buffy 7x22 "Chosen"!
Am i the only one who saw it that way!? Btw Joss doesnt do the storys fans want, so dont expect Angel nor Spike to end up with Buffy in the end! Hm.....
 
I'm definately a Bangel but I don't think the Spike/Buffy thing ended in Chosen, he still loves her and I don't think it will end anytime soon. And have to point out that its not up to SMG to turn up in Angel and 'end' the Spike/Buffy thing, its up to Joss! He is the god of the Buffyverse and whatever happens it is his and his team to decide, not the actors.

1. Yeah he still loves her, but its the same with Buffy and Angel now. They have different lives.

2. Well yea its up to Joss, but everybody by now knows that he would love to get her on the show again. Its just that SMG want to on different projects at this point. And i still think that Spike calling Buffy or "meeting her in Italy" while being gone on the show, is pretty stupid. And i think that Joss knows that as well....
 
I understood COMPLETELY why Spike didn't go, but it was self-centred and Buffy does need to know sooner or later (preferably sooner).
 
I can see why he would have doubts and why he'd be insecure, but it still felt a little too forced.
 
They didn't want Spike to go because the whole Spike/Angel chemistry is something the show can't do without, and besides, they couldn't get SMG to guest, so they couldn't very well bring Buffy to Spike. 🙂
 
It was a really dumb excuse for him not to go to Europe but I'm glad he stayed because I have buried my Spuffy hopes and will now turn to Spred. Or possibly Spangel...🙂
 
Just thought of something else. They could've bound Spike to the Wolfram & Hart building. DOH. Just did that, didn't they? And anyway he wouldn't be able to roam the streets if he were bound...

Exactly. Totally contrived. And so not our Spike. He would do anything to be with her. And I know that SMG won't do the show (damn Scooby Doo) but I just expected Joss to come up with something more true to who Spike worked so hard to become. He'll always love her and he needs a better reason not to be with her. And I know that neither one will end up with Buffy but I just want Spike to be who he was and not some new Spike. I miss Buffy (the show and the character) *sighs deeply*

I do understand the reason why he didn't go. Right now, Buffy has the image of him dying to save the world, fighting to the deat to mainly protect her. He did it for her.

Now... oh by the way... I wasn't as heroic as you thought, cuz I'm alive. Personally, I think Spike wishes that he was still gone, because he does not want to tarnish the image he has left with her.

But, on the other hand... darn it. What the heck are you thinking. You love this girl, get your butt to Europe and get her back! Duh! Shove your pride and go after her.

Hopefully she will show up on "Angel" at some time and everything will get resolved. As of right now, (with the way that the writers are destroying Spike and he is losing the shreds of humanity that he has... and I don't see them ending his story happily with Buffy~as it should be) I will be happy if she at least comes to know that Spike is alive and she at least talks to him or something. I need some Spuff action.
(And no~ I will not let it die. It is what keeps me going!)

His excuse was understandable, but dear god, get over yourself asnd go find her dammit!

I do hate what the writer's are doing to his character, he's losing all the humanity he had. He had more humanity when he was first turned into a vampire than he does now!!!!!!!

And I will NEVER let Spuffy die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER!!!!!!!! ok im ok.......maybe, lmao
 
I think, that was the best way they could have handled it without having SMG guest star. It was very in character, seeing that he has a point and he's Spike. That final moment was really, the final moment. To suddenly go back would be really anti-climatic...
 
I don't think his excuse was lame...it's Spike! He could never be lame! ! Besides, he has a whole lot going on over in California and whereas I do believe we would luv to see Buffy he knows that a lot has changed and when the timing is right he will go. Unfortunately, I don't think the writers do have much of a choice as to when this will happen...seeing as they probably won't be able to get Buffy to make a guest appearance.

Besides Buffy would just complicate everything and there would be weird and gut wrenching tension for the triangle. (Buffy, Angel and Spike) ???

That is exactly why I started this thread. Can I be one fo the great minds too? Go and grab her and never ever let her go. And of course, Spuffy will live forever!!!!!
